Sunday 7 December 2014 (One hour)

In the salon, David and Maria work on Max, Liam and Lily's hair in preparation for the family photo. In her jittery state, Kylie drops her last wrap. Making out she's got a nail appointment elsewhere, Kylie heads out to find Callum, desperate for a fix. When David confides in Eva how worried he is about Kylie, Eva agrees to take David to Kylie's old haunt the Dog & Gun. David and Eva enter and they watch, horrified, as Kylie buys drugs from a dealer. David follows Kylie into the loos and catches her red-handed about to take some speed. Angry and disgusted, David storms out. Eva is furious with Kylie and implores her to go after David and save her family. Forced to choose between drugs and her family, Kylie is at the breaking point!

It's family day at the community centre and a photographer has been booked to take family portraits. Michael insists the photographer take a shot of him and Gavin so Gavin reluctantly agrees. Zeedan refuses to take part in the Nazir portrait, claiming he's too upset since today would have been his Mum's birthday. Kal's not happy and when Tony then forces Zeedan to work, Kal lays into Tony, furious that he's exploiting Zeedan when he should be with his family.

When Maria accidentally stabs herself in the eye with a mascara wand, Luke leaps to her rescue and takes her to A&E.

Tim worries that he's going to have to let Faye down and pull out of the school auction as his reading just isn't up to it. When Emily introduces her new vicar to Sean and Eileen, Sean is pleased that it's Billy, the guy he met in the bar. When Gary arranges to accompany Izzy and Jake on a trip into town, Katy confides in Alya that she reckons Gary and Izzy are getting back together. Alya's gutted. Owen unwittingly lets slip to Diane that Kevin gave her sofa to Sally. Diane insists she and Kevin pay Sally a visit after their lunch date.

    Wednesday 10 December 2014

Eva beseeches Kylie to tell David the full extent of her past drug addiction so he can help her, threatening that if Kylie doesn't come clean to David, she'll tell him everything. At the breaking point, Kylie admits to David she tried all sorts of drugs before she met him but now she's turned her life around and hates herself for what she's done. Horrified, how will David react to her confession?

Zeedan berates Kal for threatening Tony, pointing out he could have lost him his job. Kal assures Zeedan he was only looking out for him. He remindsd Zeedan that he hasn't forgot his mum, and will always love Jamila. Meanwhile, when Alya confides in Leanne that Katy reckons Gary and Izzy are getting back together, Leanne suggests it's just wishful thinking from Katy and it's time Alya and Gary came clean about their relationship. Gary assures Alya he has no intention of getting back with Izzy.

Maria feels guilty realising Luke missed out on the flat he was after because he had to take her to A&E. When Audrey advises Maria not to let Luke slip through her fingers because he's a lovely boy, Maria apologises to Luke and suggests they go on a date.

Sally surveys the deck chairs that are now in place of her sofa and blames Tim for the fact she's not only lost her lovely sofa but her new friend Diane, too. Sean is nervous when he and Billy have their first date at the bistro.

    Friday 12 December 2014

Gary and Izzy chat about Jake and it's clear they're getting on well. Izzy secretly hopes it could be the start of a reconciliation. But Gary's only got eyes for Alya and, revealing he's still got the keys to No.6, Gary suggests they meet there for a secret tryst. An excited Alya and Gary sneak into No.6 and share a candlelit supper. But just as things get steamy, Yasmeen and Kal suddenly appear. Alya's horrified.

Despite the fact she's struggling without her drugs, Kylie does her best to make amends and goes all out to be a good mother and wife. David remains sceptical and when Kylie's phone buzzes with a text, David picks it up. Kylie tells David how sorry she is for hurting him. Can their marriage survive?

Maria admits to Audrey that much as she likes Luke, she's worried about the age difference. Audrey tells her grab a slice of happiness while she can and stop overthinking it.

Kal and Yasmeen stare incredulously as Alya confesses that she and Gary have been seeing each other. Unable to contain his fury, Kal lashes out and punches Gary, dragging him out onto the street. Izzy is devastated to realise what has been going on. Leanne does her best to calm Kal down but he's furious to realise Leanne already knew about Alya's relationship with Gary. Leanne tries to make Kal see that Alya and Gary's situation isn't any different to their own, but Kal refuses to listen and insists that Gary isn't good enough for his daughter. Alya is gutted as Kal lays the law down, banning her from seeing Gary.

David demands to know who Kylie's dealer is. Kylie lies to him telling him it's Macca. But Callum texts Kylie demanding to see her, and her lie may be exposed. Kylie is terrified about what Callum might do next. When Max tells David and Kylie that he'd like David to become his real Dad, her fears are exacerbated.

Maria and Luke enjoy their first date at the bistro and when Luke realises he's lost his keys to No.9, Maria's only to happy to suggest a nightcap at hers. However will their plans be scuppered by a 'helpful' Steph?

Over dinner at the bistro, Julie's swept away by Dev's chivalrous manner. When he invites her back for a nightcap, will she accept?

So, reading through .... it seems that the writers will mess up the depression storyline, just as they messed up the physical domestic abuse one by introducing Fizzy's affair.

I agree. Who knows, maybe 2015 will be another 2010 and begin to get better again. That's of course if the higher ups at ITV will open their eyes.

When Callum persists in phoning her, Kylie angrily tells him that she has quit drugs and wants to be left alone. Taking advantage of a lull at the salon, Kylie then slips out. When David catches her heading for the bus, she is forced to admit that her dealer is hassling her so she is going to buy a new phone to cut contact. David is dubious.

Arriving back with her new phone later, Kylie is desperate to convince David that she is clean - but when his last client of the day is revealed, Kylie is floored!

Meanwhile, Alya bemoans Kal's hypocrisy in forbidding her to see Gary. Gary is also incredulous when Kal tells him that he is sacked from the building job at the gym.

As the Nazirs clean out Number 6 ahead of their move, Yasmeen worries that Kal's ham-fisted manner of tackling Alya and Gary's relationship will only push them closer together. When she then finds Gary and Alya meeting in the café, Yasmeen adopts a new approach, urging Alya to take things slowly rather than rebel against Kal. Will her words strike a chord with Alya?

Elsewhere, Amy is jealous when Carla gives Simon an expensive keyring for the school auction while she has to make do with Tracy's homemade buns. Carla is unnerved when an uncharacteristically pleasant Tracy insists on walking to school with her.

Also, Eva is not enamoured when an ebullient, glamorous woman in her 60s bowls into The Rovers. Liz is thrilled to recognise her friend Erica from Spain and agrees that she can stay for a few weeks over Christmas.

Finally, Audrey and Maria are amused when Luke helps out at the salon hoping for an invite to their staff Christmas meal, while Sean is on edge as he prepares for Billy to meet the Grimshaws over tea.

    8:30

Kylie is a bag of nerves as an oblivious David cuts Callum's hair, even accepting a £20 tip to spend on Max. When Callum then announces that he'll be in the Bistro later at the same time as the salon staff party, Kylie is horrified.

Arriving at the Bistro, Kylie hisses at Callum to leave her alone but he insists she meets him later or he will call at Number 8. Kylie is trapped - is Callum about to reveal his identity to the Platts and blow her secret, or will she succumb to his demands?

Meanwhile, Zeedan gleefully tells Gary that Owen has taken over the sauna job at the gym. Alya attempts to calm Gary, who is furious with Kal for employing Owen. He feels he stands no chance against her family's machinations, but Alya reminds him that she makes her own decisions and will meet him later. Will Alya stay true to her word?

Elsewhere, Tracy continues her charm offensive on Carla, but snaps when Leanne reminds her about the overdue shop rent. What is she up to?

Also, Gail catches impatient Erica helping herself to a drink at the Bistro, leaving the money on the bar. Irked by Erica's brass neck, Gail orders Nick to throw her out and when he fails to do so, Gail flounces out herself. Feeling guilty, Erica offers to take over Gail's duties. Nick is impressed by Erica's flair for customer service and offers to pay her, but she hands him her number and asks him to call instead!

Finally, Sean is desperate to make a good impression as Billy arrives at Number 11 for tea. Despite Todd's snide comments, Billy enjoys the Grimshaws' company. Will they agree to see each other again?

    Wednesday, Dec 17

David is suspicious over where Kylie got to when she slipped out last night. She tries to talk her way out of trouble but when David admits that he is struggling to trust her, Kylie feels terrible for putting a strain on their marriage.

Later, David is furious when Tyrone buys the corner shop's best Christmas tree from under his nose. He demands Tyrone relinquish it but he refuses and they tussle in the street. Who will be victorious?

Meanwhile, Alya watches as Owen and Katy lay into Gary in the street, troubled by the rift she has caused. As the Nazirs move into Number 6, Alya tearfully tells them that she is going to finish with Gary as they're causing too much heartache. Hiding their relief, Kal and Yasmeen assure her that she has made the right decision. But when Alya breaks the news to Gary, he begs her to reconsider. Will Alya have a change of heart?

Elsewhere, Tony's ears prick up as Leanne gives Tracy a message from Peter - cough up the rent or the shop is going up for sale at the end of the week. When Tony then offers to supply her with his latest consignment of dodgy goods, Tracy agrees. But how will she respond to his offer to clear her rent arrears in exchange for 50% of her business?

Also today, when Erica flirts with Nick in the Bistro, he readily accepts her invitation to join her at The Rovers later. As they cosy up in the back room, it takes no time at all until they're kissing passionately.

Finally, 'Gavin' tells Michael that he hasn't been to see a doctor yet. Urging him to go soon, Michael invites 'Gavin' to spend Christmas with them. Knowing his luck is running out, 'Gavin' makes another urgent phone call.

    Friday, Dec 19
    7:30

Tracy is on edge as it's the day of Rob's sentencing. Leanne feels for Tracy and persuades Peter to extend her deadline on the rent, but Tracy refuses charity and vows to pay up. As Tony and Tracy set out to pick up the dodgy electrical gear, he tries again to push the idea of a partnership but she refuses to back down.

Later, when Tracy gets a call to say that Rob has been sentenced to 25 years, she collapses in tears. Tony is taken aback to see Tracy so vulnerable and advises her to choose whether to wait for Rob or move on with her life. As Tony assures her that she'll have no trouble finding a man, she seizes on his words and suddenly kisses him. Will Tony be able to resist Tracy's advances?

Meanwhile, Carla reels from the news of Rob's sentencing. Eileen, Liz and Michelle assure her that she's not to blame, but Carla knows that Tracy will think otherwise!

Elsewhere, Tyrone and Kevin scoff when Steve agrees to pay extortionate prices for more parts for his kit car's refurb. Weary, Kevin insists on payment towards the work done so far. Steve promises to sort it.

Also today, Liz is amused to find that Nick has spent the night with Erica. Nick then skives off work to spend the day in bed with Erica. With Nick AWOL, Steph recruits 'Gavin' to help out at the Bistro.

Finally, Alya and Gary both feel wretched.

Tony and Tracy hurriedly get dressed, both regretting their moment of madness. Tony asks Tracy to keep quiet about it and she bitterly agrees. As Liz waits impatiently for Tony to arrive for their night out, Todd spots Tracy getting out of Tony's van.

Tony eventually turns up at The Rovers to Liz's relief, but Todd is intrigued when he lies about where he's been and claims that he hasn't seen Tracy. Is Todd onto them?

Meanwhile, Lloyd and Andrea are perturbed to learn that Steve is wasting even more money on restoring his car. Lloyd decides to talk to him but Andrea urges caution, revealing that he's been having health issues. As Lloyd tackles Steve about his visit to the doctor and his unusual behaviour, how will Steve react? Later, Steve transfers £4,000 of Streetcars' money into his own account.

Elsewhere, Steph and 'Gavin' flirt as they work side-by-side at the Bistro. When Nick and Erica call in, Steph announces that she has employed 'Gavin' as permanent barman as she refuses to hold the fort alone over Christmas.

Also, Rob's sentencing is the talk of The Rovers. When Norris makes an insensitive remark, Carla walks out and it's left to Roy to console her as she struggles to deal with the news.

    8:30

When Kal finds Gary and Alya chatting in the street, he angrily sends Alya back to work and tells Gary to stay away from her. In an effort to be civil, Izzy allows Gary to take Jake for the afternoon. However, while Gary steps in to help Roy - who's getting hassle from some teenagers in the café - Jake cuts himself.

When Izzy spots Jake's cut, she immediately blames Gary for his lack of care. Witnessing this, Owen turns on Gary and issues a few home truths of his own!

Meanwhile, desperate to ensure they have the best Christmas ever, Kylie arrives home laden with presents and asks David to buy something special for Lily. Later, Kylie is unnerved when Callum drops his car into the garage for a service and tells her that she'll be seeing more of him. Calling in The Rovers, Callum flirts with Liz first then Eva. What is Callum's game?

Elsewhere, in an effort to appear less miserable, Steve suggests they hold a massive Christmas party at The Rovers. Liz is unimpressed when Steve invites Tracy along too. Tracy then winds up Tony, pointing out that he'll be spending Christmas Day with both her and Liz. Later, when Steve arrives back in the pub laden down with bags of goodies, Liz is taken aback by the amount of stuff he has bought. As he pays for the work on his car, where is Steve getting his cash?

Also, Tim shows Sally a picture of a second hand sofa he's found, but will it live up to Sally's expectations?

    Christmas Eve

Faye gives Gary the money she has received from an aunt and tells him to buy a present for Jake. Soon afterwards, Gary is gutted to discover that he has bought the same gift as Anna. Izzy is annoyed, pointing out that Gary knew what Anna had bought. Katy is also quick to put the knife in, suggesting that Gary is preoccupied with Alya.

Humiliated, Gary sets off back to the toy shop, but having returned Jake's present, he blows the money on beer instead. Anna, Owen and Faye are furious with him so Gary heads out, telling them that he'll spend Christmas elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Callum pulls out a big wad of cash as he pays Kevin for his MOT. Kylie watches, wishing Callum would just disappear and leave her alone. When Callum then tries to tempt her into his car by showing her a bag of cocaine, will Kylie give in to her demons?

Elsewhere, when Lloyd gets a call from the British Embassy to tell him that Jenna has been arrested in Spain, he is worried sick and tells Andrea that he'll have to fly out to Madrid immediately. As Andrea sees Lloyd off, Steve is nonplussed and Lloyd leaves feeling hurt.

Also today, Roy suggests to Yasmeen that they should organise the soup kitchen at Roy's Rolls rather than the community centre as he has all of the equipment. Sally offers up Sophie and Maddie's services.

    Christmas Day hour-long from 8pm

It's Christmas Day on Coronation Street. As Gail, Michael and David call in the Bistro to see Nick, Kylie stays at home to prepare Christmas dinner. However, she is horrified when Callum lets himself in and presents Max with a brand new bike. Kylie orders Callum out of the house but Callum refuses to leave. Pulling out a bag of speed, Callum offers it to her.

Arriving back, David catches them red-handed. Callum introduces himself to David, explaining that he is Max's dad, Kylie's ex and her drug dealer. David is horrified. Soon afterwards, Gail, Michael and Audrey return home to find David and Callum fighting. As her family life implodes, is Kylie about to lose everything?

Meanwhile, Amy is taken aback at the number of presents that Steve has bought for her, while Tony is shocked at how much Steve has spent on food. Having promised Amy snow for Christmas, Steve drags Michelle upstairs and they drop fake snow out of the window. Misreading his signals, Michelle tries to kiss Steve. Having pulled out all the stops for Christmas, can Steve overcome his depression?

Elsewhere, when Tracy grabs Tony under the mistletoe, how will he respond?

Also today, at Faye's insistence, Owen and Anna relent and invite Gary to join them for the day. But when Owen and Katy make digs at Gary for wasting Faye's money on booze, Gary loses his temper and accidentally breaks Faye's present. How will the family react?

Finally, Yasmeen, Alya, Kal, Sharif, Zeedan, Sally, Maddie, Sophie and Roy run the soup kitchen, 'Gavin' is uneasy when Michael presents him with the engraved family tankard which now has his name added to it, while Jason is gutted when he realises that he has bought Eva the wrong perfume and is further annoyed when Tony gives her the right one.

    Boxing Day hour-long from 7pm

A sheepish Gary returns home and promises Faye that he'll find the money to replace her headphones. Owen is scathing, claiming that even Anna has had enough of him. Gary asks Tracy and David if he can borrow some money, but they both give him short shrift. When Gary then overhears Carla insisting that Roy joins her for a bite to eat later, a desperate Gary forms a plan and pockets Anna's keys to the café.

As Roy sets off for Carla's, he finds the teenagers loitering outside and retreats back inside out of fright. Assuming Roy to be out, Gary lets himself into the café, hoping to steal some cash. Finding the till empty, Gary makes to leave but is stopped in his tracks as Roy - mistaking Gary for one of the teenage thugs - smacks him to the ground with a cricket bat. As Sinead watches with horror from across the road, will Roy stop there?

Later, Anna is beside herself with worry as Gary is taken to hospital, wondering how Gary could sink so low as to try to steal from a family friend. Alone in his police cell, Roy sits frightened and confused at the turn of events.

Meanwhile, as Gail leaves for Milan to visit Sarah, Michael promises to keep an eye on David. The kids are running him ragged, with Max asking questions about his mum that David can't answer. Realising that David could do with a break, Michael offers to babysit so David can go for a drink. But when a drunk David makes an announcement to the pub, their friends are left reeling.

Elsewhere, Steph is annoyed when Nick leaves her holding the fort again so that he can spend time with Erica. Desperate for some help at the Bistro, Steph calls on Leanne. Realising they need another pair of hands, Nick later offers Leanne her job back at the Bistro. Leanne accepts on condition that she is made manageress and they give the place a makeover. Will Nick agree?

Also today, when Sean and Eva tell Erica how Nick is a changed man since he met her and it's a shame she has to return to Spain, Erica is thoughtful.

Finally, after Tim arranges with Kevin to get Sally's sofa back for Christmas Day, Sally is outraged to discover it was only a loan and her sofa has gone again. When the Nazirs arrive, she is adamant they mustn't see her empty living room and Maddie, Sophie and Tim concoct a story about the loo being broken. In an effort to make it up to Sally, Tim, Sophie and Maddie decorate the living room, giving it a romantic vibe. Will Sally thaw towards Tim?

    Monday 29 Dec
    7:30

When Michelle reminds Steve that they're taking Amy to the panto this afternoon, he does his best to appear enthusiastic. However, Liz can see that Steve's heart isn't in it and while nobody is looking, he slinks off back to bed.

Later, Eileen and Michael are concerned to discover that they haven't been paid. When they can't get hold of Steve, Andrea phones Lloyd in Spain, who assures her that it must be a bank glitch and gives her the account details. As Andrea accesses the Streetcars bank account online, she is horrified to see that the business is £10,000 overdrawn!

Meanwhile, Roy is interviewed by the police. Full of self-loathing, he describes how he thought Gary was one of the teenagers who has been hounding him. He admits that he hit Gary repeatedly with a cricket bat and deserves to be punished.

In the hospital, Anna is shocked by the extent of Gary's bruises and is further appalled when he confesses to trying to steal from the café till. In an attempt to protect Roy, Gary lies to the police, telling them that Roy only hit him once. Despite this, the police officer is sceptical - will Roy pay the price for his unreasonable force?

Elsewhere, Leanne returns to the Bistro as manager. When 'Gavin' suggests they should put some modern art on the walls, Leanne is impressed and 'Gavin' is pleased to have won her over. But when Leanne demands a reference from 'Gavin's previous employer and his national insurance number, he panics.

Also, Norris shows Ken, Rita and Emily his new satellite map on his tablet. As he zooms in on Coronation Street, they notice a cloud of strange white smoke outside Number 1. Having checked the date the photo was taken - the day Blanche died - Norris wonders if the white apparition is Blanche's ghost!

Finally, Nick treats Erica to a Spanish lunch in the Bistro, followed by a Spanish siesta in his flat.

    8:30

Eileen, Michael and Andrea study the Streetcars bank account, flabbergasted by Steve's apparent spending spree with the firm's money. In his bedroom, Steve listens to his messages, knowing he has let Amy down over the panto and that his financial mess has finally caught up with him.

Later, Liz finds Steve hiding in his bedroom and demands to know what's going on. Steve drags himself downstairs and tries to bluff his way out, telling Eileen and Andrea that it's just a cock-up at the bank and he'll sort it out. However, when Eileen and Andrea start listing all of the transactions Steve has made on the account, he feels the pressure building. How will he respond?

Meanwhile, Roy admits to Anna how he repeatedly hit Gary with the cricket bat, even as he tried to escape. Shocked, can Anna forgive Roy?

Elsewhere, Kal breaks the news to Alya that Gary is in hospital after trying to break into the café. He warns her that Gary is nothing but trouble. Will Alya heed her family's warning to stay away from Gary, or are her feelings too strong?

Also, 'Gavin' steals the real Gavin's national insurance details and hands them to Leanne. Will he get away with his deception?

Finally, Erica explains to Nick that she'll no longer be returning to Spain as she has to stay and look after her mother. How will Nick react to her news?

    NYE

It's New Year's Eve on the Street. Ken offers to help Roy clean the graffiti off the café windows, but Roy insists that he'd rather be alone. Gary arrives back from hospital and calls in at the café to see Roy. Gary tells Roy how sorry he is for breaking into the café and how he deserves to be punished. Roy feels guiltier than ever.

Later, Alya calls on Gary and wishes him a happy new year and a new beginning. Will the couple reconcile?

Meanwhile, realising that Michael has been evicted from his flat after not receiving his Streetcars wages, David allows him to move into Number 8 until he sorts himself out.

Elsewhere, worried about Steve's financial predicament, Liz tells him that he can borrow the funds from the Rovers account to pay his staff. Steve is grateful, but as he plucks up the courage to present Michelle with the bracelet he bought her, he overhears her telling Tony how Steve is her past and she is looking to the future now. How will Steve react to what he has heard?

Also today, Erica confides in Liz that she only ever wanted a holiday fling with Nick and she is worried that he expects more. But how does Nick really feel about Erica?

Finally, Steph texts Katy, telling her how cute 'Gavin' is and how she is hoping for a New Year's Eve snog. Steph is mortified to realise she has accidentally sent the text to 'Gavin' and grabs his phone to delete the message. Snatching his phone back, how will 'Gavin' respond?

    Friday 2 Jan
    7:30

David takes Max to the doctors for his ADHD check-up. Max is upset when Kylie doesn't show up. Worried about Kylie - who is refusing to take her calls - Eva tells David that she is going to pay the Dog & Gun a visit in the hopes of finding her and reckons he should go with her.

As Eva and David search the Dog & Gun for Kylie, they come face-to-face with Callum and Macca. Launching himself at Callum, David demands to know where his wife is.

Meanwhile, as the teenage thugs approach the café, Yasmeen is forced to wade in and send them packing. Later, Chesney wishes Roy luck as Tyrone drives him to his court hearing. Will he pay the price for his unreasonable force?

Elsewhere, Alya admires the basque Sinead has made for Beth and slips it into her bag to take to a wedding fair that afternoon. When a sheepish Alya arrives back, she is forced to admit that she took it and pulls out the basque, revealing a huge red wine stain on the front. Sinead is devastated.

Also, Luke invites Maria round for dinner. Maria plays hard to get until Audrey steps in and tells Luke that she'll go out with him if Maria won't. Amused, will Maria let her guard down?

Finally, Alya and Gary announce to Yasmeen and Kal that they're seeing each other again. How will Alya's family react?

    8:30

David's rage turns to devastation when Callum coolly informs him that that he and Kylie are back together. Outside the Dog & Gun, David collars Macca and offers him cash to take him to Callum's flat to find Kylie.

Macca soon leads David and Eva to Callum's, where they lie in wait for Kylie. An impatient David kicks in the door of the flat, searching for evidence of Kylie - but they're disturbed when Macca returns with Callum. Menacing Callum warns David that if he doesn't stay away, he and Kylie may take Max to live with them. How will David react to Callum's threats?

Meanwhile, Roy returns from court feeling wretched, believing he got off lightly. He calls on Mary at the motor home but she makes it clear that she is disappointed he resorted to violence. Roy leaves, saddened.

Elsewhere, Alya is guilt-ridden as a gutted Sinead surveys Beth's basque. Julie suggests they use soda water to remove the stain. As the girls set about their rescue mission, Sinead puts Beth off when she asks to see her basque.

Also, with Tyrone out, Luke cooks for Maria at Number 9. When Tyrone arrives home early, Luke is frustrated as he is forced to join them for dinner. Luke hopes for another date, but will Maria commit?

Finally, as she prepares to leave, Erica is pleased to learn from Leanne that Nick feels the same as her and only wanted a fling. But when a mischievous Erica declares deep feelings for him, will he realise it's an act?

I think Christmas looks alright to be fair. Better than the rest of the year, anyway. The Alya and Gary circular storyline seems dull, though.
