Got let go

Hey all

I got let go on Friday! :mad:

I am worried about how this will affect my CV now

Any advice?

My advice would be to give more information as it would depend on the circumstances you were let go as to how it will affect your CV. Although if you were sacked, I would be more worried about lack of reference as you write your cv and therefore control the information on it. You can't control what a reference says.

They said it was because call volumes were dwindling so my services weren't required anymore.

So you were made redundant then? If so then it won't effect your CV as long as you're honest.

That's not your fault. Say you were made redundant. It's happened to loads of people

It is therefore a redundancy of sorts rather than a performance issue! Nothing a potential employer would find unusual in the current economy!

And if that is the reason they let you go, then they should be willing to provide you with a positive reference

Just under a year. Ya they said they'd give me a good reference so I guess Ill have to be happy with that

Well you can say redundancy as your reason for leaving when asked
