Carla Connor's one-liners

Carla Connor is quite known for her funny one-liners. But what do you think are her best ones?

For me it's;

"Come on Frank you saw her figures, there was more comedy in them than a Jim Davidson routine. Mind you that's not saying much is it."

(To Izzy) "You'll be out of here so fast you'll be leaving tire tracks"

Anymore people?

When she was visiting somebody in hospital

"Is there a bar round 'ere?"

or something along those lines lol.

"We've been havin' a steamy affair fuelled by PG tips and ginger nuts!" :D

Carla's sense of humour is one of the (many) reasons I love her much. The way that, even in the darkest situations, there's still that spark there... it's just wonderful. I know it's partly a coping mechanism or a deflection, but I just think it makes her so human and likeable.

When Carla wanted to do the interview the night of the rape, and the counsellor explained it was done on video: "What, you think I need more makeup?" :p Subtle things like that.

I loved when Leanne lost the baby and Peter said that how much he was craving whiskey, when Carla hands him the water and says "Drink that and it tastes like whiskey you're a cheap date!"

I love the random cockney rhyming slang and random references to TV shows and the like as well.

She said something in Thursday or Friday's episode that was hilarious, my mum choked on her drink laughing so much. Have to watch it back to find out what it was.

I'd like to know what it was that caused your poor mother to choke on her drink. :)

My all time fav line is when she says to Liam 'are you sure you don't want to rip my clothes off right here and now, ravish me in the reject knicker bin'

    Hilarious

Too tired to think of them, but they're excellent, and her delivery is spot on.

It's almost like something out of Downton Abbey. Which, incidentally, is where Liam ended up!! :D

Not exactly a numerous one liner, but her "imagine, even if your here or not" was brilliant.

I'm not very good at understanding rhyming slang! Any examples you can recall? :)

And I'm ashamed to report that I don't know what "dip dip my blue ship" means, either! :o Everyone else seemed to find it hilarious on these threads when Carla said it, and I felt very left out

    Hope this helps...

I'm assuming it's similar to the lil thing you said as a child (we did anyway)... Ip, Dip, Dog s**t... I didn't see the episode your referring to so I can't really answer much more.

Back from when her and Tony were together.

Tony: 'Is that a touch of the green eyed monster?'
Carla: 'No. I generally skip that and go straight to the black eyed boyfriend.'

    :D

Oh! Another one that made me laugh. Not really a one liner but ...

Liam: Do you remember my best man speech?
Carla: Yes. I remember your jokes about my perm.

and another old one. It was Liam that said it but it was about Carla when she had been teasing him about something or other.

'This coming from the woman who once joined a book club and told them she was very well ridden.'

    Haha :D

I can't remember what the exact words were but when she found out Rosie had videoed her and Liam kissing and it had got to Maria/Tony etc. She made a threat to turn her into a handbag. It was dead funny at the time.

That whole scene at the hospital with Leanne during Tram crash week was just excellent

''Yes me and Peter had an affair fulfilled by PG Tips and ginger nuts'' LOL

She said some other stuff as well but out of that whole Tram crash week Carla and Leanne's hospital scene was my favourite.
