Could Cheryl Cole be the new Kylie?

Kylie hasn't the best of voices either and her success is mainly based on charisma, a strong image and showstopping performances. I wonder if Cheryl is hoping to go down this route. Could she realistically achieve the same level of success as Miss Minogue?

Possibly, but not if you think that opinion on this forum is actually indicitive of actual general public feeling :D

I have no idea, but I wish her luck in whatever she does in the future.

I'd say that in the U.K, she is bigger then Kylie Minogue is or was.

The fact that she is British and was 'born' on a talent show and now being hailed as a national treasure, It looks like she will be the biggest female star ever over there.

Hey, I'm just stating what I see.
Not saying I agree with it.

Like her song but just cant warm to her as a person. I really cant see her being around as a recording artist selling out big arena shows in 10 years time.

If Cheryl is the new Kylie then Cheryl's sister should be a judge...

As much as I adore Cheryl, she will never be the new Kylie. Kylie captured all of our hearts as a cutie pie in Neighbours who then went on for an excellent cheesy pop career.

I am afraid that Cheryl Cole has as much chance as becoming the new Kylie as Heather Mills does becoming the next Mother Teresa.

Cant see the difference between a 20 year career and one solo single thats been available for 2 days then..

No, I'm not comparing them like that.
Cheryl is just more hyped and backed already then Kylie was back then,
She's got GA, XF and now her own solo stuff.
It will fall eventually, just like it will for everyone, but they've made her something really extra special already.

ITV has said they want to make her the queen on ITV, so I think they're aiming for her to be their British princess.
And ther seems to be a need of having little princesses in this country.

NO!!! Kylie has over 20 years in the music buisiness as a solo artist, can you honestly see Cheryl Cole doing that on her own?? no way also Kylie as the "likeability" factor some thing Cheryl has not got!!!

According to wikipedia Kylie has had 49 singles, 39 of which were top ten, 24 top five and 6 number 1's.

And let's not forget the 10 albums!!!!!

Tone-deaf, half-dressed Cheryl has a fair way to go.

Only if she has a plastic-faced sister that will not do as well as her in a singing career.

Comparing Cheryl Cole to Kylie is an insult to Kylie.
