Has anyone got the concept of Rock Week?

We've had Janet singing a fluffy and non-rock version of Guns n Roses, we've had Rhythmix singing a normal song... inevitably everyone's arguing about the theme.

Rock is pretty vague, we've had Marcus and Sami getting away with soft rock, that's the least we can expect of everyone surely? Not fluffiness....

How many more will avoid the theme and just sing what they like?

It is ridiculous to try and make all the disparate acts sing in a rock style.

Sheer silliness. There are seperate genres for seprate vocal abilities and styles.

They are looking for versatility. Although all themes so far have been so generic that anyone could do anything.

Wish they'd gone with Motown this week.

Well, Janet and Craig technically sang Rock, as did Sophie (badly). Some of the others really can't be classed as rock though.

It's like this; if it's got guitars it's a rock song (even if there's a harp in there)...but if its roots are in rock it's also a rock song...and if you slip into a leather jacket and ripped jeans it's also a rock song.

    Hope that's all cleared up.

My husband has spent 1 minute moaning about the song Craig sang, as he is stating its not rock, but Brit pop:confused:.
    He's still moaning:D

Would think it's funny for someone to do Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold.etc lol

But I'd be happy with rock songs, not Kesha!

Come on Kitty deliver rock songs please...

rock songs are the style not the origins of songs

rock is a style of music that has in no way been showcased on this show!

now kitty is on! at last we will get some rock

I don't like Kitty much, but that was a good performance and it was indeed rock.

No offence but I disagree, you can't take hip hop and turn it into rock.

I think the big issue is that TXF always introduce rock week with VT's of CLASSIC ROCK IE QUEEN, ROLLING STONES, GUNS AND ROSES etc.

FOr example that Oasis song is ROCK per say...but it isnt huge guitar riffs, drum solo's etc etc its alternate rock. Personally the XF will never get the genre right so they should save us all the pain and scrap it.

    I'm waiting for Cocozza.

I was expecting Rhythmix to get a drastically rearranged Smells Like Teen Spirit.

I wouldn't mind Janet singing the same song but in a rock style. And I'll get thinking about the others. :-)

    Here goes Frankie...
