whats up with james franco returning to daytime soap tv??

i just read that DS story about this and i find it really really confusing hes

an oscar nominated actor from last year
has starred in some major movies
is in a new possibley major summer flick next month(planet of the apes)

so hes hardly an actor going down the list more like up


so why the hell would he be returning to general hospital for at least 7-8months soon:confused:
considering i hear the daytime soaps are a dying breed over there now

does someone major on that show have something on him or something lol

    The same reason why do hollywood stars take a huge pay cut to tread the boards in the West End?

    He must enjoy it.

    I think its possiable he is attracted to portraying that particular character. He will also get the oppurtunity to play a contineous role and develop the character over time, rather than a one off disposable character from a movie.

    It does seem odd as most American actors get their starts on daytime soaps before moving into movies not the other way round but if its what he wants to do, then fair enough - he is still making movies too. Just a busy man!

    He's already done General Hospital in 2009. He's returning back I guess. He probably likes the meaty role..?

    He's not your usual showbizzy actor though so rather than choosing roles strategically (or purely for financial gain), he probably chooses based on merit as well as what he enjoys doing...
