If it's good, I wouldn't be surprised if they repeat it on Channel 5 or potentially move any second series to the main channel.
Channel 5 should start slowly with comedy, perhaps a panel show or comedy entertainment format as well as US sitcoms then commission original sitcoms and sketch shows. Not sure where comedy would go, Fridays would ideal but Saturdays could work as well. I wonder if reviving The Friday Night Project with new hosts could work or a SNL type show with celebrity hosts and sketches.
The trouble is when you think of Friday Night Project you immediately think of Justin Lee Collins (and Alan Carr). Or at least I do anyway. So to me the brand is dead.
Well at least we made it to two months and one day before Christmas before somebody mentioned them. I hope our dear old sofa-loving friends haven't been resurrected one last time, I haven't heard anything to suggest otherwise..
I think Caroline Aherne is too ill to do another Royle Family. But it should be left as it is and not brought back even if Caroline was well. The 2012 special was awful which is a shame as the 2010 special was brilliant.
The Great Fire was poor though. Very dull and for a show about the fire of london seemed to me to have very little fire and very little London.
I haven't seen episode 2 yet, but there were signs in episode 1 that all would not be well. I thought the Champions League rating was dire but this is even worse. Viewers have voted with their remotes and it looks like a Titanicesque Turkey even now-only saving grace after such a huge outlay is that presumably it will sell well abroad.
Ally Ross suggested the only thing that was lacking with the Great Fire was Eric Morecambe and Glenda Jackson-which did make me smile.
Also increasing its news output from 260 hours to 280 hours, and those extra 20 hours will be in peaktime so I guess there will be longer 5 News Weekend bulletins.

It was announced during a simulcast of BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2 this morning that there will be a BBC Music Awards event taking place in December. Chris Evans and Nick Grimshaw announced that this would be a star studded event, the latest in the current BBC Music campaign, and would be hosted by Chris along side Fearne Cotton
This is taking place Thursday 11th December at 8pm to 10pm on BBC One as well as Radio 1 and Radio 2.
Well it might be worth looking at Mrs Browns Boys and Live at the Apollo to find out how often each episode really has been repeated on BBc1!
Edit: although of course it only goes to 2009 at the moment which means you can use the programmes section that you've always been able to do!

An absolute storming start for The Big Bang Theory on E4 last night picking up a huge 2.09m (inc +1). Amazing stuff. Rating of the day.

Emmerdale hot on the heels of EE last night. Emmerdale really has upped it's game over the last few months IMO after an average 2014.
Yes it was, and that of course was its third showing after the original screening in November 1997 and then its repeat run the following June, both on BBC2, such was the acclaim, three repeats in less than eighteen months.
The Royle Family did exactly the same a year later, the first series in October 1998 and the repeats the following summer on BBC2, then the first series got another repeat on BBC1 on Sunday nights in January 2000. No, you're quite right. Friday Night Project was very enjoyable (and, IIRC, popular) at the time but more recent events have ensured that it is never coming back. It turboboosted Alan Carr's career, for which we can all be eternally grateful, but the 'comedian panel with special guests' idea has very much moved on (The Last Leg etc.).
On a completely separate note, does anyone have to hand all the overnights for Educating Yorkshire and Educating the East End. I'm wondering whether the former went up as the series went on, or was just high throughout.
