Hazell's lawyer said his client made the decision to change his plea to spare Tia's family further suffering.

Indeed. I'm sure that the overwhelming evidence against him had nothing to do with it........

Good it's murder he pleaded guilty too. Not manslaughter or anything.

I hate it when people come out with that phrase. It's as if they believe they're doing the family a favour. Presumably he's satisifed with the amount of suffering he's caused them up to now.

and lessen his sentence [perhaps] and increase any future chance of parole.

what an insult to the family that is.

Must admit, the case against him seemed so overwhelming, that it seemed pointless even trying to fight a case like that....

Some of the evidence has been truly awful - it's scary that someone like that can be living a seemingly normal life with those around him having no clue as to what lies beneath the surface.
    Poor, poor child.

Yes, the CCTV, dna evidence and hiding a body in the loft seems like a cut and dried case. Though he did try and argue that it was his neighbours who were responsible !

    Unbelievable from his brief -

"Tia's family have suffered enough and he did not want to put them through any further stages of this trial or this process".

Its a shame he wasn't so noble and considerate when he was murdering the poor girl.
Lock this monster away forever .

    I'm glad he pleaded guilty.
The case is so disturbing, and I'm a little disturbed by the grandmother's comments last week. I wouldn't be surprised if he had been grooming her.
Poor Tia :( hope she's at peace now.

The tabloids always rake up the sordid secrets of all the perverts etc that have committed serious criminal offences. So, they'll come out anyway. If that's why he's pleaded guilty quick for, he's wasted his time.

The evidence against him was overwhelming, even the stuff that came out last week from the trial. He deserves to rot.

Isn't his claim still "she fell down the stairs"?

These people are highly manipulative and that's why adults get taken in as well. It isn't just children they groom. Anyway, let's hope he gets at least a minimum of 30 years.
