i too regularly shop in bm bargains they have some stuff in there that i find cheap and useful mainly crap but i pop in to have a look around
The one near me is quite a small store, about the size of a small supermarket like Tesco Express, so they don't have heaps of stuff there but they do have a food aisle that looks quite good, all branded products, although I've never bought anything other than children's gifts from there.

I'm a regular Poundland visitor. As others have mentioned, I buy my reading glasses from there. They tend to sell out quickly so whenever I see the ones I like, I stock up on them. I don't care if I lose or break a pair, they cost me £1. I've bought DVD's from them, and various other items. If I think of anything I need, I'll check in Poundland first to see if they have it.
I get Kodak Xtralife ones from Poundland, I find them pretty good. You get 6 AA or AAA. I don't understand the science in this, but I can read the graphs and they seem to score well there, particularly in the value for money charts (cost per Ah) where a lower figure is better.
They also do 10+1 free Kodak zinc batteries at Poundland which I would agree are rubbish.
Last thing I was pleased with was a can of air to clean out some dust from my computer. I don't know if the ones you get elsewhere are superior as I've never bought one before. It did the job for me. Looking at the prices online I saved anywhere between £2-£5 for a similar product.
Why do you need to buy a can of air for £1. I either just blow on it or use my hair dryer......works for me!:D
Pound shops isn't the cheapest place for everything.
No, but that's how they make their money. They wouldn't be able to survive on selling everything 'cheap'.
I tend to look in our Poundland a couple of times a week, often for drinks (2 bottles for £1) or chocolate. They also sometimes do those microwavable Uncle Ben's things which are very nice.
We also get a few things from there for work, such as computer cables, as it is just a few yards from. Quicker and cheaper than ordering online from our other suppliers.

There is a Home Bargains next door but one to a Poundland in a town round here and it is funny just how the same items can be at least 10p or 20p cheaper a go in Home Bargains.

I'm hitting B&M next weekend for the remainder of my Christmas shopping.
You have to be wary though, one of the presents I want is cheaper in John Lewis. It pays to do a bit of research.

Poundland can be a real rip-off at times
