He's popular because he's being ganged up on by Linda and Luisa. Nobody likes to see that, even with someone with a reputation like Jim Davidson. He's got some good one liners as well.
I'm not a fan of Jim but when I saw this thread, I was interested to see the comments on the off chance I'd missed something to explain his popularity.
But I have to say I'm still as confused as I was when I started reading.
The main reasons to explain his popularity are, he's entertaining & funny. Obviously I'm in the minority but I just don't see him being entertaining, nothing he's said or done has interested me in the slightest, in fact I find him quite dull & boring.
As for being funny, not for me.
I can't find anything to like about Jim either, and would prefer anyone else to win, even that sleazy idiot Lee. I can remember watching BBC on Saturday evenings as a child, and insisting my dad change the channel when 'Big Break' came on, as I didn't 'want to see that annoying man' (Jim). I haven't changed my opinion of him since!
