Not usually a R2 fan but thoroughly enjoyed Richard Bacon and Craig Charles this week.

I really like Steve Wright, Sara cox and Vanessa fletz. I hate simon Mayo as everytime I listen, he's playing that damn muppets tune!

I pretty much like R2 as it is and don't like the changes the OP suggested. Sarah Kennedy back, no thanks!
The only change I'd make is to give Craig Charles a permanent show. He's stood in for Jo Whiley this week and is currently Graham Norton's Saturday morning cover. I can't stand Norton and would love Charles to take his place permanently.
I'd also try and find a niche slot in the later evening for Danny Baker.

Well you must only ever tune in on a Friday afternoon at 5.10 then as thats the only time it gets played. Whereas Bacon started all 10 of his cover shows with Fraggle Rock theme.

Personally I'm looking forward to the OP's ideas of DLT in weekday breakfast, I do hope he knocks Pause For Thought on the head and replaces it with DLT's Daily Rant.

OP, remember the schools go back next week! Meantime, find something else to comment on! "Let's change the most popular network on UK Radio!" Naw, let's not!!

You back at school next week are you? I left along time ago sunshine!
To keep it popular you need to fresh it up!:)

Bob Harris didn't get a look in, yet he's the only one I listen to on R2 (time shifted while commuting mainly).

I quite like Jo's show, but when Craig fills in he is so much better. Saturday mornings have been a great listen also, he is a good interviewer and plays some excellent music. Not sure if he is a contender for a permanent weekday slot, but saying that he has been good in the 2-5pm slot covering for SW. I get the feeling when listening to him, he loves radio and can hear him smiling through the speakers! :)

I really enjoy listening to Craig, nice that Radio 2 have used him much more this year and as he's soon to be leaving Corrie hopefully he'll have more time to cover shows.

If he was to get a daily show I think it's more than likely to be on 6 Music as I doubt he'll want to up sticks from the North West.

I no longer to Radio 2 at all.

I would return if the likes of Feltz, Wright, Bruce were retired off the station.

I would like to see some new talent given an opportunity etc.

I think R2 is pretty much fine as it is, although I do find the suggestion of the next POTP host questionable. Why does it necessarily have to be a former chart show host, again? I would want a weekend breakfast show though.

Weekend Breakfast with Gary Davies ! I used to like Weekend Breakfast on Radio 1 with Peter Powell back in the day!

Am I crazy or have I heard Richard Bacon back on the radio? Wasn't he covering the afternoon slot? Wasn't he kicked out of broadcasting after the allegations of drug taking?

That highlighted has been thought of before. I would bring breakfast forward by half hour until 9am.

Should have mentioned, it's Bobs Sunday morning rock/folk show that is my sole R2 listening, time shifted of course due to the ludicrous scheduling of it.

He was dismissed from Blue Peter but has had quite a varied broadcasting career since - maybe look him up ;-). In fact probably one of the more successful ex-Blue Peter presenters.

Drive time should really be extended to 19:30, and preferably 20:00hrs. Magic have the right idea there. I'm often still driving home at 19:00hrs. R2's travel news ceases, and if the specialist programming at 19:00 isn't to your taste, then it's a cue to tune away.

Wednesdays, it's Magic on D1 from 19:00 for me.

And sorry Nick, personally I'm not in favour of Steve Wright for drivetime

OK, so I've just been appointed the new controller of Radio 2, time to do a 'Matthew Bannister' and shuffle the pack.

The New & Improved Line Up - what you think?

7AM Breakfast Show with Dave Lee Travis
Nothing to do with DLTs recent issues, but why do you want someone who did the stogiest breakfast show in R1's history. A man who revelled in being an old man when he was in his 30s and thought using a pipe was fasionable?
