Can't Download Programmes To BBC i-Player

When l try to download programmes to the bbc i-player on my laptop, l get a message saying that l am not connected to the internet. This is not true as l am connected!
The i-player on my desktop is saying that l am offline.
Please could someone help me to resolve this problem or give me a link to the answer!
