and this is why you should never go into a test match without a specialist spinner

153 overs and 17 of those from the guy who is being picked as our main spinner

Waqar Younis was also a great tailend bowler with his inswinging yorkers.

    Absolutely right.

I cant think of many current scary bowlers tbh.

The absolute worst position is when a side bats themselves out of a bad place to one where they eventually declare-used to drive me insane in my regular watching days.

If this partnership reaches 100, it will be the 3rd English summer in a row in which we have conceded 100+ runs for the last wicket.

It's a real problem for England, you can't keep making excuses about the pitch or being unfortunate or whatever. Happens too often nowadays.

    87 - eighty flippin seven !!

Cook is Captain Calamity and the team follow his lead. Somehow we take 4 for 5 and then let it all go with this gifting of a record last wicket partnership. >:( Indian style wickets and weather is there anymore we can do for our visitors.

yeah but the umpire is hardly going to give an appeal for caught behind when neither the bowler or wicket-keeper claim it is he

Rubbish again by England. The bowling just isn't good enough.
When we do get to bat I fully expect us to throw two or three wickets away in quick succession.

I know the pitch is rubbish, but still, this is embarrassing.

looking at some stats here just makes it feel even worse

before today shami's top score in first class cricket, let alone tests, was only 33 and hes just got a 50

great partnership by these two but unforgiveable from England

Where has this 'funky fields' expression come from

They keep saying it on Sky ( mainly Nasser) and even Tuffers is saying it on TMS

Yes that's the way, bowl 3 feet outside the off stump, that's how you get tail enders out!

yes very good total from the indians, they shouldn't lose from here.
very important not to score far too many runs in the first innings.

Atherton praising our bowlers. Why? Simply not good enough for the last couple of hours.
You can guarantee the Indian bowlers will look far better on the same pitch.

cant see any way india can lose from here

no way could England score at a fast enough rate on this pitch without taking crazy risks to get the sort of lead they would need and still have enough time to get another 10 wickets imo

I've noticed this Test that they have been consistently praising Cook as well as the bowlers

I suspect they're reacting to the way Shane Warne's criticism was received

Letting the oppo add 3 figures for the last wicket cannot be praised no matter how easy the pitch appears
