A great film. It's on now on BBC2...starting at 00.45 and on for nearly two and a half hours!
Why didn't they put it on this afternoon? Perhaps they've forgotten that most people go to bed on a Sunday night to get up early on Monday?
It's astonishing that there's time for Flog It!, some other antiques programme and a cooking programme, one after the other, but a long film comes on past midnight.

A decent film let down by some tin-eared dubbing and the miscasting of Omar Sharif.
Given its subject matter, it's not really suited to afternoon viewing.
He wasn't miscast as an actor, but he certainly was miscast as a type. As if the Nazi's wouldn't have spotted an Egyptian in their officer ranks.
Then again they didn't mind having a brown-haired, brown-eyed, physical runt of possible Jewish origins as Fuhrer of an anti-semitic 'master race'.
Nor the obviously Jewish, Himmler!
If Jackson had stayed quiet it would have worked because he looked the part. Otherwise a good actor.
Odd in what way?
Two screenings on two different channels would air so close together.
