I agree. My answer back to him would have been. "I would rather be a porn star than a teacher."

I would have answered back but this teacher had a lot of *power* and he would twist the story and make it like I was accusing him or his wife of doing porn or something stupid like that plus I had exams to study for and I didnt want to be stressed out about that and then trrying to study.. I just shrugged it off.
Your teacher was [as you are] entitled to his opinion, for him to continue with the ribbing was a bit OTT but then there are many of us who remember being teased about stuff for years at school.

If as you say and still maintain it's just a job, why wouldn't you "let" your daughter do it?

Mr. H asked me out of the blue so it was more of a mechanial answer thank something I had actually thought about . (Like "do I look fat in this dress"No" lol).
And I woudn't "let" my daughter do it because every girl gets called a ****/****/easy etc and I want somebody to call my girl names. If she really reallyreally really wanted to do it then thats another matter.lol.

Your teacher should be ashamed! What a petty little man.

I always thought it was the job of teachers to educate, not pass off their moral standards onto other people. My mum's a teacher and so's my OH, and they'd be ashamed act like that about anything. Especially in this case I assume you were in your teens at the time!

    Cheeky get!

Ehm yeah I had just turned 17, I didnt let it get to me Because I was old enough to know that everybody has there own opinion so there wasn't really a wrong answer.

But isn't the focus generally on healthy eating and the safety of products etc.? I just assumed that Playboy merch. wouldn't fall within the scope of any existing guidelines..? Unless Hefner decided to market a dentally disastrous cereal with a cute pink bunny on the box- Crunchy Frosted Marshmallow Bunny Bites...
If the Playboy merch for children had boobs, bums and willys pictured on them do you think trading standards would let them hit the shops or wait for people to complain about them?

I like the sound of crunchy frosted marshmallow bunny bites, I'd give em a try.

    Why are you tired?

Everyone gets called names at some point. We bring our children up to have their own opinions and make their own choices in life. If your parents told you that you can't do a certain job because they wouldn't is that reason enough for you to not do it even though it's something you really want to do?

What's this lol stuff all about???

No, that's what I'm saying.. I was remarking on the fact that the merch. was probably evading the existing guidelines because it doesn't raise any clear problems re. health, safety, outrageous content.. But, I still think some intervention is necessary as the company is capitalising on the fact that a) their bunny logo happens to be appealing to kids and b) the kids are too young to realise the connotations of the logo, or the nature of the company associated with it. It just seems like a case of cynical manipulation to me..

Lol.. Looks like a smiley typo.. Meant to go for the ":o"!

I think you quoted the wrong post but never mind. isn't it the parents that buys clothes for the younger children? If the parents don't have a problem with playboy I don't see what the problem is.

I don't know any person of even slight intelligence that is interested in swanning around with playboy logos on show.

I've seen people with the tattoos too and unless they are being sponsored by the company then it's like walking around with the BP or Coca Cola logo permanently on your skin:rolleyes:

Doesn't that go for any tattoo? Much better than the name of an ex branded on you that you can no longer abide.
