With luck, I may be able to open the voting earlier this evening Will keep you all updated.
Also, unfortunately no one has come forward to replace Naruto, which means one of the teams is already minus a player. However, when it comes to the voting, I'll use averages rather than total points, so that team is not at a disadvantage.
Thanks puppylove, happy to have you I think it would be fairest if you start playing in the second task, which will begin after the first elimination on Friday
Hai all, I have another announcement to make. Wong_Billabong has not been in contact with any of their team this week, despite being online, and it seems a shame to keep them in the competition when then there's someone else who actually wants to take part. Therefore Wong has been replaced with Tomi Adenuga, who, like puppylove7, will start competing at the beginning of Task #2. So, welcome to the game to you both
There will still be a boardoom and elimination for Task #1, and I will post the song list when I have them all.
In case you've had trouble keeping up with who has has left and who has been replaced, here's an updated list of players:
Barry_Clarke

So we still have 16 players. Hope that's all clear
Can't wait to see how amazing (or amazingly bad ) the song list is! One question though, does the public have a vote as well or is it just the judges who decide who stays and who goes?

The public can all vote, and your votes will be counted individually, so it's not just the judges our players will be trying to impress I'll be opening the voting later this afternoon hopefully
Hello everyone. It's now time to reveal the entries from each of the four teams. Thanks for all your hard work; let's hope it pays off! I'll include the team names as I post the songs. Please remember, teams are meant to be anonymous until voting closes!
We have selected this song for Janet as not only is it quite unpredictable it is a song that fits her vocals perfectly- and the genre of the song is one that we believe that any music Janet records would fall into. We completely believe that Janet would deliver an outstanding rendition of this song as she would be able to maintain the image that she displayed on ‘’The X Factor’’.
When selecting this song for Adam, we were heavily influenced by the indie-esque covers that he has published on his YouTube. Adam has a very unique, distinct tone so this song was chosen to completely show his vocals off to the max. We completely believe that Adam would be able to pull this off.
We as a group feel that Wonder is a great song choice for Kye Sones as both Dan and Kye have similar styles in their music, they both have a similar indie pop/rock sound to their vocals, Kye especially shows he's more committed to indie music due to his previous music career prior to the X Factor with band Diagram Of The Heart, we also believe that Kye could pull off this kind of song choice as it's upbeat and Kye's strongest vocal performances were when he was performing upbeat songs during the live shows.
I know many people probably think this is a predictable choice for Hope, but as a group we decided that this shouldn't be based on predictability but if the performance could actually be pulled off by Hope, and we certainly believe they can, the vocal tones between Parade and Hope are slightly similar and Hope, like Kye showed that their stronger performances were when they were singing upbeat song that would have them dancing and moving, we just HOPE that the rest of you agree with our tactics on this choice of song.
In order to choose a variety of songs, it was important we had a range of acts to pick songs for; therefore, we decided it would be best to have an act from each category: a Boy, a Girl, an Over and a Group. In doing so, we selected songs that not only matched their vocal ability and general tone, but were also good songs; if slow, were atmospheric and contained an emotional, endearing aspect. If up-tempo, making sure they were still vocally suited to the artists we picked while still being an enjoyable, memorable listen.
The deep vocals of Charlie Fink correspond to those of James Arthur quite spectacularly. Undeniably, we feel this emotionally, delicate song is that of a perfect fit for James Arthur.
The soft yet effective vocals of Moya, we feel, assimilate to Sophie Habibis’ quite incredibly. The slight up-tempo aspect gives off a slight new vibe and it being a song that must be replayed; it is a wonderful choice for Sophie.
The unusual (and slightly edgy) tone of Heathers, we feel, compliments the likes of Bad Lashes wonderfully. It is an endearing song to listen to and a song that consists of a range of emotions – perfect for Bad Lashes.
We feel we have decided upon a range of genres to satisfy a variety of voters, and if not then please take note of our team name.
Here are our four songs for the first task. I have taken on the task of being The Pussycat Doll's spokesperson. Just as a note about our song selection process, each person on the team submitted one song for one act in each of the four categories; that is to say, each person submitted one Girl's, Boy's, Group's, and Over's entry. We then voted on the songs we preferred. We picked these songs at the end of the day because they were the most popular at the end of the day, but also because our voting system (hopefully) replicated a mock-public vote; we wanted the songs which were the most appealing to a wide audience, and these were the choices!
GIRLS: Jesy Nelson [Little Mix]: "Mufasa" - Amaal Nuux http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbdFQvzmbZ8 Jesy is a pretty unique choice for a girls entry, seeing as she is a member of a group. We chose Mufasa because Amaal's voice sounds like it's one Jesy could easily adapt to. Additionally, the song has a cool RnB vibe which I think fits Jesy rather well.
BOYS: Aiden Grimshaw: "Running Up That Hill" - Kate Bush (Placebo Cover) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KEEXyRL0qE Aiden deserves a big, classic song, especially after his masterful performances of a few staples during his run on The X Factor. Obviously, "Running Up That Hill" fits the bill pretty well. Specifically, the Placebo cover is one which is curtailed to his voice rather nicely and should impress a more mainstream audience looking at our choices, while not alienating a viewer with more "indie" tastes by being too pop.
OVERS: Carolynne Poole: "The Greatest Light is the Greatest Shade" - The Joy Formidable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYPyIsWirqs Caroylnne, in our eyes, can bridge that interesting gap of country and alt rock. The power, and, simultaneously, control in her voice is something we wanted to express. A song like "The Greatest Light is the Greatest Shade" is one which speaks to Carolynne rather well as an artist. It has a very country backing, with a slightly more alt rock vocal.
GROUPS: 2 Shoes: "Let It Go" - Dragonette http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KsPIJK17uk This was the most popular song we submitted in the group voting phase of our selection - every team member ranked this choice as their highest preference. Why? Because it's just the right amount of charismatic camp as it is just the right amount of serious vocal performance. Dance pop is the girl's strong suit, so giving them a less camp but still wildly crazy song like "Let It Go" seemed only natural.
Thank you so much
I'll be opening voting shortly, as well as including a summary of the songs
Please PM me your votes, ranking the teams best to worst, 4 - 1, NOT the songs. Please take all of each team's songs into account when deciding your ranking. Viewers are also encouraged to vote! Tomorrow at 5pm I shall reveal the results. The losing team will then have until 9pm to prepare for the boardroom, where one of them will be fired. The judges will also reveal their comments about the teams' choices.
Please don't reveal which team you are in until after voting has closed.
