Poorest final 5 I have ever seen.

In all the years I have watched X Factor I cannot remember such a poor final
5 than these. In previous years none of these 5 would be even considered a winner. Seems the Simon factor hasn't had the impact in terms of quality contestants.

    Oh I don't know about that. Last year and 2007 were worse for me.

    Never. Rhydian was always a must see every week in 2007!

    Exactly! Only Sam Bailey, young Nicholas and Rough Copy could sing. Luke came third and he was no better than Stevi.

    It might feel like it was only 2012 but it was 2007!

    Actually, I don't think this year's final 5 are too bad compared with the last 2 years.
    I like Ben and Fleur, Lauren is also quite good and I don't mind Andrea.

    I think they're all pretty decent, but if someone doesn't step up soon I'm going to be disappointed in this year.

    In previous years I have always got goosebumps and arm hairs standing on end. This year nothing. Sums it up for me.

    Same. Not a single goosebump moment this year for me with any of them.

    To be fair they're all at the same sort of level, it's just the level is meh. Mehvel.

    Things could have been different and more exciting if Only The Young were still in the competition singing Viva Forever or another ballad hahaha...

    This year's performance of top 5 is better than that of last year.
    Last year was just so meh...

    For me, last year was one of the best because Abi Alton was there and i'm a huge fan after hearing her sing.

    This year is absolutely terrible because one of the idiot judges got rid of Paul and the other got rid of two powerful female singers who could have won the show (forgot their names but one is Cypriot and the other worked in a shoe shop) before the live shows even began. And people wonder why the ratings are so bad.

    As tonight's show started I realised I just simply do not care. Only The Young were the only thread of interest for me.

    Yeah it appears that the talent pool is drying out....or they are not putting the right people through to the lives. It's hard to know how good some of the contestants are during bootcamp stage as often the producers edit them the way that suit them.

    I'm shocked at this thread.

    I personally think the final 5 are brilliant compared to the last few years.

    I think Andrea or Lauren will go tonight although I think it will be Lauren or Stereo Kicks as Andrea will get the rebound vote.

    Lauren will probably go.

    That has been the problem for me as well. There hasn't been a single performance that has made me sit up and go 'wow'. It's just all been a bit meh.

    Even last year, Rough Copy didn't have the best vocals but their performances of Hit The Road Jack and September brought the show to life imo whereas I don't think the series has really taken off at all this year. It's just all been very vanilla

    For me it seems the best final 5 ever at least in terms of consistency, I mean series 5 had more stand out performers, but Eoghan was much weaker than any of the final 5 overal this year. And I'd say that Fleur, Andrea and Ben have given stand out performances if not last night, then other weeks.
