The latest hysterical rubbish is the Express reports on Turkey. Claiming the FCO has issued dire advice (when in fact, it hasn't changed at all).
I didn't think they would be, despite the best sensationalist efforts of the lying trashy Daily Fail.
Meanwhile with reference to it's trashy sensationalist lying mate the Express.
This Sunday highly disturbing news reached the expat community in Turkey and those overseas tourists about to head to our shores.
A British newspaper announced: “Shock warning: terror threat to millions of holidaymakers as ISIS [also known as ISIL, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant] target Turkey.”
Not a synonym for modesty, UK tabloids often use over-the-top vocabulary to make a point, but this particular headline caused more than just a stir of disapproval. Within hours of publication the online community of Turkey lovers was up in linguistic arms to defend their choice of vacation destination and/or adopted homeland. But my concern is how much damage has already been done?
Should I mention the newspaper by name? No, as that would reward inaccuracy with additional publicity
Well I'm off to the Aegean coast of Turkey this year. I go every year. I love it there. I love the people; I love the food; I love the climate; I love the gorgeous scenery.
