Perhaps you people should wein yourselfs of donuts and have a bowl of freshly chopped fruit and raw veg instead

As they say , a little bit of what you fancy does you good.

Woah woah woah, hang on a minute here. Are you talking about the ones with the hundreds and thousands and stuff on? If so, this is an outrage! :(

Why on earth would they discontinue them? They're like the basics of all doughnuts. That's like discontinuing cheese and onion crisps but keeping the rest :S

I do - breakfast every day is a bowl grapes, blackcurrants, goosegogs, plum, slice of mango pineapple and kiwi, topped with apple/pear and a banana sliced. And orange quartered on top. That is my brekkie every day. Evening I have raw carrot battons and a florette of cauli outa the fridge for a snack.

And you begrudge me an occasional ring donut?

You shouldn't make assumptions about people!

    Haha :D

I'm glad they're still kicking about. I like the ones with the white icing at the chocolate chips.

    Must. Get. To. Tesco. Now.

Oh no! I love to get these sometimes, they're such a nice treat!

Although I bought a bag of ring doughnuts a few months back, was so looking forward to having a nice ring doughnut, opened the bag, and...JAM DOUGHNUTS.

I mean, I love jam doughnuts too, so I cannot complain. But I was so looking forward to my ring doughnut haha.

Hate to burst the bubble, but all those doughnuts come in frozen, then just get defrosted in the morning ;) mind you as long as they taste nice it doesn't matter!

    don't panic.

greggs continue to offer their very fine caramel custard doughnuts.

    go there instead.

(they also do iced ring doughnuts but i don't like them).

Tesco still does all those. I am mourning the passing of the plain sugar ring doughnut. All the others seem sweet (jam), goey (custard/choc) or just really dry (iced ones).

    I am bereft and distraught.

 In that case I demand big bags of frozen ring doughnuts be made available in the freezer section.

Don't get me started.......there's not a single Greggs in Cornwall :( The nearest one is Exeter 80+ miles away and as someone who used to live in Yorkshire where Greggs were plentiful, I so miss being able to go there :(

yea..they use this machie ( filled with jam) with two sticky pointed things with handles, they then put donuts on the pointed top and push handles down, in goes the jam..then they roll them into the sugar and put on a tray for selling :p
