Having a look at tonight's listing I see that apart from "Jools' Annual Hootenanny" on BBC2, every other channel's Live Big End of The Year Show has been cut to a few minutes before midnight till a few minutes after.
Not that it's a complaint as they became more dire each year, but it seems that a channel's identity and self promotion has gone and replaced by the "Buy it and bung it on" attitude now adopted by every other channel.

Jools show is not Live (as discussed at length in another thread )
Maybe go back to the golden years and actually put on a full show to promote how wonderful they are as a company? And actually be good?
Obviously too much to ask and isn't even comprehensible to today's audience force fed on the "Buy it and stick it on the player" attitude of today's TV companies.
TV companies nowadays are nothing more than a feed-out company (outsourced) and a small group of 'shirts' to handle finances and what to buy to send to the feed-out company. All the same with no personality of their own.
Who remembers Southern TV with their group of personalities that were household names and who were the company to the viewers.
"That was 2010" which is billed as an overview of the past 12 month's headlines is on ITV at 11.20 pm. However, it is only half an hour long so will hardly go into much depth!
It can be watched online also.

Sounds about what would be expected from ITV.
