But if GTAIV was 16gb, why did it fit onto one disc?

    Serious compression I'd imagine:)

    Probably wrong though:D

No I actually think you are correct.

GTAIV wasnt 16gb it was about 10.2 gb on a PS3 blu-ray disk. Unfortunately I cannot check anymore because of firmware updates.

I suppose thinking about it, it may be possible to cram it all onto onto one disc.

If we look at GTA4 you could take Algonquin, Broker, Bohan and Dukes and have that size being Los Santos and surrounding town areas and then you could have say the size of Alderney being the mountainous region, which of course wouldn't be a drain on disc size as say Alderney was as a living breathing city, slap the extra spare gig available it actually may be possible.

IIRC didn't GTA4 only install to 6.6gb on the 360? I'll have to double check.

Having checked it out, it was 6.7gb.

They got Skyrim on one disc so it is possible.

I have no worries as I get most of my stuff on PS3 lol:p

I haven't seen or played Skyrim, is it a big game? I mean game content wise not disc size.

I think the main storyline takes 30 hours to finish. If you do everything else you will be in excess of 300+ hours:eek:

That's according to articles on the web though, whether it's true is a different matter.

The oblivion class games from Bethesda use procedural generation to reduce development time. My guess is Rockstar have done something similar.

If they bring GTASA back with all its cities and all the open countryside but with a make over in the style of GTA3 to GTA4 and include the wide selection of side missions I will be very happy. I enjoyed the more serious approach GTA4 took, but I hope that if they carry on down that path with the GTA5 story they at least include some fun side missions to balance it out.

I just want another huge sandbox full of toys like GTASA.

Shopto have it down as being released on 01/01/2050. Don't know how reliable that is? ;) lol

I wonder if we will get snow on Mount Chilliad. I think that area will be similar to tall trees on RDR. I really can't wait.

I can't wait to see all the casinos on this.

I wonder Green Bottles pub will be back from near Grove Street. Will it still be a sh*t hole?

Chuffed with the trailer SA by far my favourite of the GTA series, i just hope they remember what made GTA the huge series that it is, in my opinion GTA 4 lost its way, pretty to look at but no substance / fun / customisation etc so i hope they put in all the fun elements of past games, SA had a great blend and i loved the gang element hope that this will be in here, would be great to see Grove street Family make an appearance maybe they could be hired muscle?

TBH that will be the very first place I go looking for. Grove Street that is... Not the pub. :D

Glad its only Los Santos and the country, San Fierro was pointless in San Andreas, Las Venturas was fun, but nothing too special. With it just being Los Santos and the country, ALL the effort will be in that city and its surroundings

Don't know what you have been reading, but since when did the other 2 parts of SA get confirmed to be not in the new game? Why would there be planes in the game? Why would there be a suspension bridge, identical to the one in San Fierro. There is no need for a bridge if there isn't any other islands. I mean, it could link to the country, but that bridge leads to a city area, which looks similar to san fierro.

Why call it San Andreas, if there is only one main Island?

That suspension bridge is the one that connects Los Santos to the docklands, its not the one from San Fierro as San Fierro had a nice looking beach that didn't have cranes towering over them

The first video for San Andreas only showed Los Santos too.

It wasn't until the ones after that the other cities were seen.

It's only the first of many trailers and I'd be surprised if they revealed all the landscape in their first one.

The first trailer has already shown elements of Santa Monica, Downtown LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills. I'd be surprised if elements of Las Vegas and San Francisco were omitted this time.

The GTA IV, showed only the first Island, I could be wrong. They aren't going to show every island though.

EDIT It showed all of them.

    That's not it.

    EDIT:

This one shows you them all apparently. The first one shown is the first ever video of San Andreas.
