We are going to be left with loads of useless stadiums and as for regeneration?
Well, the Olympic Village housing will be sold off as luxury flats, apart from the 2% that will be "affordable housing" which will be bought and sold on for a profit anyway (no rules say they can't) - that really helps the poor of Hackney and Newham.
Loads of wild marshland and parkland that the residents currently use in the middle of London (so a rare thing) will be concreted over.
Vast sums are being spent on useless transport links for the games. So you will be able to get to the games from St. Pancras in seven minutes? Whoopie! That really is useful for us Londoners, even though the rest of the useful network is falling apart.
It will bring jobs to the area? What jobs for the people of Hackney and Newham? Standing there pointing people to their seats? Car park attendent? The only people to benefit from this side are the multi-million pound corporations that have no doubt made 'donations'
And as we get nearer I can imagine what day to day life will be like in the Captial with all the chaos and security. I bet we will need to get a form to sneeze.
