this feels more like a bad episode of pride and prejudice

I'm really missing Amy and Rory. It's really not as good as I had hoped.

It's nothing to do with the lack of action - I agree that not every episode has to be full of action; it just seems to be a somewhat confused and boring storyline

Yeah, it is rather confusing. Might be worth a rewatch later. It's enjoyable though. :)

Matt is a brilliant doctor, but I miss RTD's scripts. This Xmas special is a bit all over the place.

Anyone got a clue what's going on and why Jenkins keeps getting refrozen?

The character is being kept a surety for a loan Kazran's father lent her family, he holds people as insurance to make sure the loans are repayed.

The Doctor is attempting to change Kazran from being "Scrooge" by making him feel differently about his past.

...don't understand why people aren't making sense of it, I'm drunk and I get it.

    I agree.
It's certainly different to what we're used to. But I love it.
    Really interesting storyline, very christmas-y.

Not terribly exciting, but very enjoyable. :)

Congratulations Moffat for stretching about three minutes of story into 60 minutes :D

I wish I had been frozen in the coffin thing for the last hour instead of Jenkins so I hadn't had to live through it!

exactly. very easy to understand. i'm a big fan of the show but there have been a fair few episodes that barely make any sense, and this is not one of them.

    super impressed, loving it :D

Couldn't they just have played a Katherine Jenkins Greatest Hits cd to the cloud, the programme seems to be one big advert for it anyway?

It's a lovely Christmas episode of Doctor Who. Might not work as a regular episode but it's perfectly judged for today.

Anyone know what song Katherine is singing? Or was it made just for the show?

It is isn't it. I think I'm not enjoying the episode mainly because of her.
