I know it's a age old tradition, but does anybody still cook and eat turkey's at christmas? I have done it for years. What will you be having this christmas?
We haven't eaten turkey for Christmas for years, though I quite like sliced turkey from the deli.
I hate wading my way through it at Christmas.
After the first meal it's like eating cardboard.
We had goose one year (a gift) and although it was delicious it was all frame.
Most years we buy two ducks for Christmas day and a joint for Boxing Day.
I always cook a turkey, even though we dont have Xmas dinner at home.
I cook one on Boxing Day. Its our favourite meat, and sooooo versitile. We have sandwiches, sweet and sour, cold with bubble and squeak, soup .... you name it, we have it.
So, although a turkey is expensive, I buy the biggest one i can find and generally we eat it all.
We started getting Turkey breasts a few years back to save on hassle over cooking a full one. We also get a stuffed Pork joint and usually a small Beef or Lamb joint. You get a good choice there and have stuff for leftovers.

Reminds me of my mother saying,"And if anyone offers you that Maryanna, bring it home to me."
