I've looked for the thread but cant find it.
What happened to that poorly cat which couldnt clean itself and the owner kept making excuses about taking it to the vet? Did he actually get it sorted out properly?

A couple of us have asked the OP about the cat on other threads that he's posted on (eg re his depression and alcohol problems in the Advice forum) but have failed to elicit a reply (that I have seen anyway).

I think the other thread was removed because of some rather unpleasant posts. I think I was probably a bit mean myself to the OP. :o

I think it was absolutley really cruel of the OP not to take the animal to the vet. Theres no excuse for animal neglect in this day and age. I just hope the cat has recieved the correct vet treatment.

Sorry but some people were being quite nasty on thread to the OP with the cat. Every one was going on as if he'd been beating the cat up or something! I'm not condoning him not taking the it to the vets about its cleaning problem though, I'm sure it's been dealt with now but I'd like to know for sure all the same so I'm going to have a look for the him and send him a message.

I think the OP took her to the vet, i think he posted in that thread that he booked an appointment and was going to take her. Hopefully the cat is better now.
I agree some people were being very rude to the OP.

He deserved it totally for his cruel behaviour. A person isnt going to get hearts and flowers when they are deliberatley neglecting a pet.

I had this with a friend the other day, shes on my course (animal behaviour) so should understand that animals need vets on occasion, but told me none of her 6 cats had ever been to the vets as her mum 'treats' them at home. Apparently her mum used tcp daily on a wound on ones head! It was ok after a few MONTHS! I was shocked and told her it was not only unacceptable to not take them when they need medicine or treatment, but she doesnt worm, flea to vaccinate them. (and none have been spayed).

She didn't care for my opinion and now won't speak to me! Which suits me, anyone that thinks this sort of behaviour is acceptable is not the type of person I want to associate with.

What the hell is she doing on an animal course if she learns nothing from it? Wouldn't want her anywhere near a pet of mine.

She is a genuine animal lover but incredibly naive and doesn't understand that her mum is not right about things (not just animals either, life in general), I suspect she'll never do anything with the course, which is a shame really.
