Yes, read this earlier this morning. The Rockford Files is still one of my favourite shows of all time, his portrayal of the character along with writer Stephen J. Cannell was one of genius!

Such a shame, my favourite actor and seemed like a really nice guy, one of the few all action actors who actually earned a purple heart in real life
I'll carry on watching my DVD's of The Rockford Files (I first watched this series as a child 40 years ago) arguably the best acted and best written American detective series of all time and remember what a great actor James Garner was
James Garner RIP. He was without doubt my favourite actor and loved him in Rockford Files. He brought humour, style and buckets load of talent to each and every one of his TV and film roles.
I understand he was a truly nice guy in real life, too.
