I don't know why but I've got a feeling Steph McGovern (BBC Breakfast's business presenter) will be on this year. Ever since the backlash of Widdy's appearance there has been a trend to cast Joke acts who surprise everyone with how good they are (Russell and Lisa) and I think Steph could fill that role, especially with her prior dancing background.
Sunday Express have said that bosses are keen to sign either Cheryl Cole or Tulisa (they wouldn't be this tacky surely), and have said that Nadine Dorries and Fabrice Muamba are in the frame.

There's really no solid rumours yet, are there?
That's just lazy journalism.
This person used to be on X-factor - therefore they are going to be on Strictly.
This person did "I'm a Celeb" therefore they will be doing Strictly
Fabrice Muamba has a serious heart condition, so he is not going to get insurance to do a long running reality show - however he would be OK for one-off's like Xmas Strictly, celebrity Quiz shows, or maybe Comic Relief apprentice etc.
Possibles / Feasible; Natalie Gumede (has left Corrie so is feasible) Paul Hollywood
Publicity ****: Russell Kane (on tour) whichever Kardashian it was, Nadine Dorries, former X-factor contestants with a new album out etc
Lazy Journalism : Anyone who has done a reality show; BGT contestants, former X-factor contestants or ex-judges; anyone with any connection to Cowell-and-his-evil-minions.
Remember journalists have pages of space to fill, and with current cutbacks it is easier to make up a story about a former X-factor winner "being chased by the Strictly producers" than it is to go out looking for a proper story.
I wonder pre Leveson - how many scoops about Strictly celebs were revealed as a result of phone hacking ???
Does anyone on DS keep a record of predicted celebs which turned out to be correct?

While I admire the fact he recovered from being practically dead, I'm not sure why he is a default person to appear to make people think good of a program.
The ultimate meh would be him dancing to Emeli Sande.
The contestants are bound to include someone who has been controversial in the news and someone with something to plug.
As long as they get someone on such as the Chuckle Brothers and Bradley Walsh to counteract negativity.
It's highly unlikely that Jason Orange will ever be chosen to take part as a contestant on strictly as he was a professional dancer before joining Take That.
Nicky was first reported in early June last year, although by that point we also had Fern and Michael's names in the ring as well as a bunch of people who didn't do it after all.

It was breakdancing, so not exactly Strictly-esque dances.
Also, Jason is a very private person (as has been stated in numerous Take That interviews), so I really doubt he'd do something like Strictly.

Quite right, Pashulty! I'd better go before I'm escorted off.....See you elsewhere...;)
and enjoy Craigs criticisms!
Wig not at the right angle would a good start.

Not yet, most of the publicity/media team for Strictly work on The Voice too and that only finished last night so start expecting leaks soon.

Hopefully but i doubt it.
How early was Nicky rumoured last year as wasn't he one of the first?
