We're told by the media how wonderful this man is, so we're supposed to like him, or else.
F-Off . .
He's made so many sh*t movies . .
Dreadful actor & so overrated. .
Love him.
Like what?
must have put him in good stead for Zulu (1964)
I waited for more, but seeing he was not planning to volunteer it, I asked him what the upshot of the encounter and greeting had been.
'He said "Hello' back,' answered my friend.
He's quite the raconteur, this former housemate of mine. Highly on demand on the after-dinner circuit.
Well ive just read this and i was impressed.
Back in the day I would have paid £14.99 for a choice or orange juice or prawn cocktail followed by steak diane for someone with even more flair than yourself to deliver it with the aid of a microphone and a couple of gin and tonics.
The Swarm
Escape To Victory (though thats almost in the So bad its good category)
and I vaguely remember one about a pirate (which also had David Warner in it?)
And I'm sure I read somewhere that he's admitted doing some rubbish films just for the money (and because he was a workaholic) and he doesn't regret them in the slightest.
But he's also done some of my all time favourite films
Zulu
The Italian Job
The Man Who Would Be King
The Ipcress FIles
and
Alfie
Sleuth
The Eagle Has Landed
Harry Brown
I'll get me coat
He has admitted to that, I'm sure it was in one of his autobiogs.
Not a lot of people know that he worked in rep. theatre before hitting films. He has the old school ethic of "grab any money paying job that comes your way because you never know where or when the next pay cheque is coming from" which is shared by Samuel L Jackson amongst others, who has also worked on some stinkers.
As for Micklewhite's stinkers, how about Jaws: The Revenge? And I'm sure he was in a 70's film about piranha's but I could be wrong....
Yes he did, but we're talking back in the 50's and 60's...
top Hollywood producers who planned a series of Bond type movies but more low key... (Harry Palmer )
and Micheal found himself on a contract paying him some obscene figure like.... £10,000 per week !
(how much were you on back in the mid 60s ?)
The first thing he did was to go out and buy himself one of those huge American fridges.
:D:D:D
He tends to talk...in a ...flat monotnous...voice...with pauses...and THEN STARTS BLOODY SHOUTING.
I think he served in the Korean War as part of his National Service

Hahahaha
But you cant stay mad at michal for too long.
I could swear he has either portrayed a gay man in a film or dressed as a woman, one or the other
I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific.” [Jaws: The Revenge]
Thankfully thats only your opinion.
He has admitted that he woke up one day and realised he was broke so just made pretty much any film offered and why not, he's not the first actor to do this but is one of the few that is honest about it. He has made some poor films but he's also done some good solid work. His politics (as mentioned by others here) is his business and not ours.
