Ashely was a really decent character and in my opinion, ruined a few years back with Claire's post natal depression and that crazy lady. (Can't remember her name )
He had a lot of potential, but I do think that after Fred's death he just melted into the background.
Scence tonight of him saying goodbye to Claire was heartbraking though! Excellent acting I think.
As much as I wanted him to live and Claire be trammed, I think the fact that he had a Hero's death was fitting and a better exit than a trip to France with that hideous wife of his.
As much as it's always horrible to see a character die in awful circumstances, it's always more effective when they are a decent character to start with.
Ashley could be boring, but he was always likeable, so he was the perfect candidate to get trammed.
100% the right decision, he was a long-term character who deserved a memorable exit. Much better than (the obviously fake) spoiler that he and Claire would leave the Street following the whole incident with Simon's injury

R.I.P. Ashely
Should Ashley have lived or died ?
Answer option : No
Eh ? Which ?
Peter to live and marry Leanne.
Nick to die a hero.
I was just thinking the same
My answer - yes he should've died. Has always annoyed me as a character. Think it's the voice.
True, but I didn't say Steve Arnald was dead... And I'm not sure why I said no
No shit Sherlock
Oh go and spoil everything.:D;)
W-w-what? What's not real? I saw it on the news and everything.
