I setup the wg11t adaptor with this software when I installed it last week in Windows 7

I know nothing about TalkTalk software, bit have you just tried plugging everything in and see if it just works? Most of the ISP's I've been with dont require any special software if they're using a regular router.

My daughter had the same problem with Windows 7 and Talk Talk last week. She phoned TT and they sent her a new router....free of charge.

I work for Talktalk. The problem is they didn't originally have a disc that is compatible with windows 7 (I don't know why they didn't get something developed whilst windows 7 was available in beta, it would have made so much more sense).

What i would suggest is calling through to talktalk customer services and ask them to check with the broadband equipment team if they have an updated disc for your router that works with windows 7. Failing that....

I am on talktalk and never used their software to install anything. You can plug the laptop (or pc) directly into the router with an ethernet cable. Most routers can be set up by typing an IP address for the router into your web browser and then log into the router and set up the WLAN, change passwords etc etc.

Try checking out the netgear website for a userguide for your router. :)

You don't need any software. To access the router's settings go to 192.168.0.1

    Hello tinydi,

Check with your service provider (ISP)

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibilty.)
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".

There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx

In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!

As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://************/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support.

    Thanks again,

You don't need any software. To access the router's settings go to 192.168.0.1

Correct - type IP address as shown above in browser type in username and pasword (admin / password by default - change this when all is working) enter the router config page and enter settings as shown in this link

    http://www.talktalk.co.uk/help/broadband/connecting-your-router-to-talktalk-broadband.html

I've set up countless routers and never used a 'set up' disc.

I've even set up routers before posting them to customers so the recipient has to just plug them in and then wireless connect to their PC's -- follow the above and you'll be connected in no time

Set-Up discs are really best for a hot drink coaster.
