What's the prospect of Kent having their share?

There'll be gale force gusts in the late afternoon, but nothing too extreme.

Does this mean one of my garden chairs might blow 6 foot across the ground again?

The rolling news channels will be having emergency meetings now as to how to cover the upcoming devastation. 'On the scene' reporters will be sent out in force to interview the dog walkers about their knocked down garden knomes.

Oh great, more broken twigs, toppled over garden gnomes, clothes fallen off the washing line and my hairstyle getting messed up.

The last great storm we had a few weeks ago caused £25 worth of damage in my town

    Hilarious jokes guys.

People died because of the previous storm. Just because you weren't personally affected doesn't mean it was overhyped. Be a little more respectful.

Yes but it was in mid July underneath a picture of Diana so it may have been missed by people.

Gusts up to 50kph, which can do some minor damage, but no more than a typical rough winter storm.

It's worse than that. Gusts of over 70mph in the central belt in Scotland, Over 60mph in the north east and north west England.

And even worse than that for some
However within the area of the amber warning gusts are expected to reach 80 mph in places and perhaps as high as 90 mph in exposed parts of the north and west of Scotland.

Some people do live there :p

It was overhyped to the death and what resulted was a relative fart.Ironic when considering the 1987 storm .....which was a real storm and then the media were too busy self fellating on something else to notice the impending catastrophe.
