PLOT:
THE WAY, WAY BACK is the funny and poignant coming of age story of 14-year-old Duncan's (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter, Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up to and begins to finally find his place in the world - all during a summer he will never forget.

I just finished watching this comedy-drama and man I love this film. Some great performances all around - particularly from Sam Rockwell who steals every scene he is in. The film flew under everyone's radar and didn't get much of a theatrical release. But it is now available on DVD & Bluray (at least in the USA). I'd hate to see this film just disappear so that's why I made a thread about it; to let everyone know that it exists.

She was great in it too. Definitely a scene stealer as well. I forgot to mention that the music in this film is terrific too.

I watched this the other week, it's a brilliant film. Allison Janney is incredibly underrated as an actress, she deserves a leading role.
