So, what's your estimate for this 'piece of junk'?
I really couldn't say, it's been about 17 years since I worked at the shop. I can say that we'd sell wooden HMS Victory kit for about £60 or thereabouts, while the weekly one would cost about £300.
We'd always get people popping in to ask for help with these things too!
I have to wonder how they're going to fill 100 magazines with info though.
The Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo annoys the hell out of me: "Go to a branch of Boots to find out why it's so popular". No, how about you do your bloody job as an advert and tell me? Get stuffed.
If it actually worked, people would have started pouring coffee over their heads years ago.
I hate every single one of the bleeding-heart charity ads. I bet the mugs who respond to them rake in far less money than the cost of the advertising agencies and the ads themselves.
Much more amusing is the German TV advert for Alpecin.
Nutty scientist in stereotypical white coat explaining how it works, and the brilliant tag line at the end "Doping für die Haare, und nür für die Haare" which translated is "Doping for the hair, and only for the hair"
Can't help thinking that add would work better than the obviously cheap UK one!
I used to work in a model shop and we used to enjoy calculating the cost of these "build in weekly parts" models against the ones we had in stock
How about some examples and links to buy? I bought weekly parts for 1:8 th James Bond Aston Martin and MClaren F1 car, cost about £795 each, I bet you didn't have equivalents in your shop. 1:8 th scale F1 models complete (not kits) tend to go for £2-3K

Sorry, the owner sold the shop in 2004. The new owners changed the look and the shop lasted another 5 or so years before closing.
I went on to wargaming, so any info or experience I have is now out of date.
So there's another one with the dumb boyfriend and a condescending but sensible girlfriend. This time for atol insurance.
If being sensible means you lack any personality, ability to have fun and be able to treat your partner in a respectful manner then please don't change the male characters.

Do the magazines normally keep up production long enough?

And the new DFS one with an Irish woman voiceover who I'm told says 'this Shout sofa' Sounded like 'sh**e' to me.

Please.
It may only be on in the Yorkshire TV region.
"Join us soon for more dishwashing tips"....oh, I can't wait! >:(

Might as well buy it from brighthouse
Yep. Might be Yorkshire only. Saw it the other day. "Shi* the bed?" I though. "Not shopping there."
Like I'm not buckin' my holiday with that other company.
