  Why do people judge Radio 1 purely on its daytime output, they have loads of specialist shows in the evenings/weekends with zero playlist.

  R1 and R2 both have more variety in one 3 hour show than most commercial stations have over an entire day. And (as others have said), there are a lot of specialist programmes across the network post-7pm
  
  Round here C(r)apital have obliterated all the local stations and have the most limited playlist ever - I have heard the same song repeated within an hour, and played three times in a three hour show.
