Seems Merkel is willing to do a deal to keep her BMW outlets open.

So what about the other 25 leaders he has to buy off to get his treaty changes.

Sorry it's a pipe dream. Accept the rules or get out!

Don't get involved in the story, before you do, think WHY. Why is Cameron pretending to get tough now?

Remember his "Cast Iron" guarantee about the EU?

He's scared of UKIP, he's scared of the back benchers in his own party. If he felt this strongly about it he would have done something long ago.

    Don't be fooled, it's a game.

Merkel is supporting renegotiation because the German people are fed up to the back teeth with the way the EU is developing.

and what's the very first 'concesssion' mentioned in the article......reducing workers rights in the NHS

you couldn't make it up.............Cameron goes to Europe to demand less rights for British workers...........and british workers up and down the country jump up and down with delight shouting 'yes, that'll show 'em'

It's not about the number of rights for British workers it's about who is accountable for them. It's a matter for national governments and a mandate from said nations electorate - not an out of arms reach EU.
Same goes with human rights and the supreme court. Our country, our court, our final word on a matter.

Merkel may be make nice sounding noises but the reality is without fundamental change in the direction and ethos of the EU there is no chance of the UK getting any change that is actually worth anything. Currently such change is not even on the radar screen and the only thing that might put it there is a credible threat of UK withdrawal.
