Surely Ed can't mess this up....can he ?

Should be a spanking victory for him going into Easter recess

It depends if his team can come up with some new lines now that Miller has resigned.

Ed's script will be six questions about when Cameron will sack Miller. Doesn't matter that she's gone already. he'll just keep plugging away and the labour benches will cheer him on.
"he wont answer the question mr speaker, Why is she still in her post?"
Not a good week for Ed again. Good economic data. Miller gone. can't attack the privileges committee as it's chairman is labour. He might go with Ireland and the state visit but he runs the risk of being beaten to it by Q2. I expect it to be to be another wasted opportunity and more sound bite filled drivel. "cost of living crisis" "bedroom tax" "can't trust the tories with the nhs" "tax cuts for millionaires" etc.

Not as tough as it would have been if she hadn't resigned.

He always gets a rough ride. It goes with the job of being PM.

It'll be interesting too see how Ed Miliband handles the Maria Miller resignation at PMQs cause the expenses claims stinks on all parties.

agree and strange Ed Milliband has kept quiet so far.(if there is a bandwagon to jump on he normally does)...maybe because there are a few on his frontbench that had the same problems at the same time in 2009 as Ms Millar.....although if Ed Balls had to resign it might actually help Miliband....

When previously asked about Miller he said that he had nothing to say "today" giving me the impression that he intended to say something about it at PMQs.

Will Ed do a Kinnock and miss an open goal?
Will Dave continue to provide 'terminological inexatitudes'?

He has spoken, but maybe not what people might have expected him to say.
Miliband puts spotlight on Cameron over Miller

David Cameron has "serious questions" to answer about his handling of Maria Miller's expenses, Labour leader says

    A curious article...

Miliband asks about the "events of the last week" which have caused great concern but he does not name Miller.

30 second apology wasn't good enough. She was accused of housing her parents at public expense, which she was cleared of doing.

Miliband asks what Cameron has learned.
Cameron says that Miller was accused of housing her parents at the taxpayers' expense but that she has been cleared of this.
    Miliband sticks with this topic.

(Cost of living takes a back seat)

Miliband accuses Cameron of "a terrible error of judgement" and Cameron asks why Miliband did not call for Miller to resign and has now only raised the matter after she has in fact resigned.

    Cameron is a fool
Let her keep doing her job? So like a Bank robber should be allowed to keep robbing banks?

Miliband is right that Cameron needs to be clear why it was correct for Miller to resign, but Miliband completely disingenuous in asking why Cameron didn't fire her. Miliband never asked for her resignation - and never would have - for very good reason. He knows just how many on both sides of the House did much the same as Miller.

Cameron says that there is more to be done regarding expenses and points out that the Committee now dealing with expenses has members of public on it.
