not to bring down the tone but did I spy the 2 bartenders from the only way is essex on it...?
Not as exciting as Wanted (that live show on C4 from several years ago), but Drop Zone is still a better hour of programming than the rest on offer.
Oh yes, forgot to mention, Steve Jones is well fit
It may get a cult following and appeal to the ITV2 type of audience?
I wonder if they decided to take it off the shelf and dust it off, after ITV aired 71 degrees north?
xx
I must admit that that if it wasn't for the hunky Steve Jones, I might have given up on the show.
Though i really hate the streetwise team as they are so rubbish and shouldn't have got sooo far when they can't read maps and its a mainly based on navigational skills!
Perhaps because it's a Saturday early evening programme hidden away on a Sunday afternoon.
shame because its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than 101 ways to leave a gameshow or whatever that Steve Jones had in a much more suitable time slot
Really good, little programme. The first time in ages I've enjoyed something other than football on Sundays.
What the hell is the point of Steve Jones?
Very very true...
yep you did! although this was filmed first
It actually missed it's original slot (last jan) because it was sent back for re-editing, then it needed to go on in the winter because it's part of the whole "go do outdoor stuff" promotion the bbc are running.
Feel the Ginger Pain! Total accident btw...
Steve Jones - I think even I fancy him a bit! If you won the first day it could give you a big advantage being able to handicap the other teams, but yeah coming last instead of 2nd made no difference.
Streetwise basically blagged their whole way through by following the other teams and occasionally cheating. Plus they were pretty rude to all the hosts the whole way through - basic lack of social skills!
Totally - or in the Apprentice type slot midweek, it would have done so much better!
Oi, that's my wife you're talking about! Whilst they're fairly outgoing flamboyant types, you could say they were asked to "play up to the cameras". And yes...they played 100% by the rules, undertook everything with good grace and without complaining, the argument screened was the only time they bickered the whole trip, and they're all genuinely nice people unlike Streetwise!
Not that I'm in any way biased
I agree though - the singing was fairly atonal...Ellie's much better on a stage, I assure you!
Indeed - and that was in no way staged, the Luvvies were very worried that the geeks were going to overtake them at one stage...one wrong turn and that could have been it. Although the Geeks plan to outrun them was laughable, given they'd already been beaten in a flat out race in an earlier episode - Isle of Skye I think!
Streetwise on the other hand, only stayed in it by following just about every other team at various points, and would have been out first episode had it not been for the useless Candy of Candypops!
Well, anything moved to prime-time would do better. It might be less tedious than that junk, though.
I suppose. A series, if it was total crap though, would do worse - as in attract negative reviews etc.
Indeed.
He's an irritating smug **** who deserves to be shot point blank in the face with a shotgun.
Really Steve.
So if I gave you a shotgun and put SJ in front of you, you'd have no hesitation in pulling the trigger?
Or is it really so much easier to be a big hard man on the anonymous internet?
FYI SJ was really great with all of the teams, genuinely enthusiastic, and let's face it, a much better person than you could ever hope to be.
