How do we reckon it will launch tomorrow? Hoping it'll rate higher than last summer which I think was weakened by the six week break...
I'm gonna predict- 1.8m launch
1.6m(overnight) average

Hey mate! I made a thread without seeing yours, so will use this one as you did it first obviously. Here is some info....

For BB17 it looks like that not only is it around 200k+ up on BB16, it looks to be on par with BB12 and BB15 too. Can this series of CBB18 follow the trend on increasing on the previous series?

That previous series being CBB16 (not CBB17) as that aired in January, as opposed to summer.

From CBB8 onwards, this is the OFFICIAL averages of their series:

    CBB8- 2.8m
    CBB9- 2.6m
    CBB10- 2.2m
    CBB11- 2.8m
    CBB12- 2.3m
    CBB13- 3.1m
    CBB14- 2.1m
    CBB15- 3.1m
    CBB16- 1.9m
    CBB17- 2.8m

I've highlighted the SUMMER series as that is what it is best to compare this series to.

And here are the LAUNCH overnights and officials from CBB12 onwards (i ill put the officials in brackets)

    CBB12- 2.83m (3.18m)
    CBB13- 3.40m (3.69m)
    CBB14- 2.36m (2.75m)
    CBB15- 3.27m (3.64m)
    CBB16- 2.22m (2.66m)
    CBB17- 2.80m (3.30m)

Yet again, I have highlighted the SUMMER series as those are the series we will be comparing this series to. I personally don't think we will even go anywhere near even the summer series bar CBB16. I think the only comparable here would be CBB16 because the summer series have run out of steam, whereas the winter ones haven't.

I predict 1.8m overnight for tonight (2.2m official).

If we are to dissect further, CBB16 launched with almost 1m more than BB16 final finished, so if we do that, then this series will launch at 2.5m, which to me looks way too high.

    2.24m excl +1. That's good considering last summer got 2.22m including +1

    Looks to be around 2.4m.

    2.36m including +1.

Beat the last two summer series (CBB14 and CBB16)

Decent. Weak competition on the night will have helped. It will be interesting to see how much of that it can retain tonight though.

    Agree.

Last year I'm sure it got 1.55m on the second day. I predict 1.7m tonight.

    Hmm, that is disappointing.

Only 30k up on last summer's first highlight show.

The summer before that got 1.75m. I guess CBB will follow on the tradition that weirdly enough, Fridays seem to be lower than the other weekdays?

It did face Masterchef final I guess, and First Dates, perhaps the same audience?

Viewers not impressed by the line-up.

Masterchef final got 4.9m, perhaps that was the reason? Celebrity First Dates was hit too.

Tonight will be a write off. And will be sub 1m I reckon. It's all about tomorrow, I mean the series only needs to average 1.5m-1.6m nightly to avoid being the lowest rated (which is a 1.9m official)

I think personally people were not impressed by the lineup, we will see. Can't judge on one rating.

    Thanks. Not too terrible.

Lats year's first Saturday got 910,000.

Highest Saturday summer rating since CBB14 Week 1.

    I'd assume 1.6-1.7m yep.

    1.5m incl +1.

Really expected more (like 1.7m), so I'm disappointed. It is up on the 1.17m that the first Sunday got last year though, but still disappointed. 1.6m tonight?

    1.17m / 5.8%
    1.31m / 5.8%
    1.55m / 6.2%
    1.25m / 7.2%

So last night's beat at least three of those comfortably.

Also every ep so far has been up on last year:

    2.36m vs 2.22m
    1.58m vs 1.55m
    1.35m vs 910k
    1.5m vs 1.17m

And people are moaning it's a crap series, just because they want it their way. CBB isn't black or white, it's a grey area.

Nice rise for CBB last night as it got 1.54m excl +1, which would make it around 1.7m incl +1, highest since launch. And for the 5th consecutive night, up on the previous year, which got 1.59m incl +1 on the first Monday of CBB16.

Glad to see it doing better than last year. Bit of a dodgy cast at launch but I'm enjoying it.

I'm not too sure. I'd be surprised if it does, I can see it generally in the 1.6-1.7m right now (which would put it just slightly ahead of last summer). But it all depends on the plot of the series. If it looks too one-sided and look like a certain win for the younger people, it would put people off it. What viewers like is either a "comeback story" or 2 groups battling until the end. If all of one group is gone by mid-series, i can't see the ratings holding up.
