Its scary to think how homophobia is still rife in todays society

In town the other day, I noticed a group of yobs shouting the f word (you figure it out) at a young gent who, I suppose, you could say was dressed in a 'camp' manner.

I was very shocked, as you would think that these days that being gay is accepted by society, but incidents like this just remind you that there are still alot of homophobic people out there.

By yobs I take it you probably mean kids? Kids will be kids. If it had been someone with ginger hair or someone whose face had been burnt in a fire they would probably have been giving similar abuse, so I wouldn't say particularly homophobic. Just idiots that need to grow up.

I'm looking forward to the day when I experience slimophobia, but I don't really expect to encounter it any time soon. :D

No they looked over 18/early 20s.

    'Yobs' doesn't necessarily mean kids.

It does depend a bit on the area, as some towns/cities are more cosmopolitan than others.

Perhaps a description of the camp man's outfit might help us to decide if the boys were correct?

You only have to be on here to realise homophobia is still rife.

I ignore most of the threads but some so called straight people are completely obsessed. Get on with your own life.

I've got breaking news for you all.

There are still homofobes out there

    there are racists out there

there are still people who laugh at people with disabilities or maybe aren't that good looking.

fortunitly , most of these people are either working class or giro theifing maniacs or stuck up people who are obsessed with religion and well out of touch with the world.

Not really, this is the decade that is defining it and in time (like a good 20 years) i bet there won't be much homophobia will be around. We have come a long way in the past 30 years with it so it can only get better.

That'd be Cambells, not Heinz. Unless that was a reference to shaved bollocks?

Did you step in and defend the man in this clearly shocking incident?

If not it's scary to think how the "I'm not getting involved however I'll go and post it on an internet forum" attitude is rife in today's society
