At the moment this is not looking as widespread as suggested. Not a lot in northern France developing, or in the Channel either. Really only my area has copped a hit so far and a bit of the far south east of England.
A lot can happen still, and I guess much will develop out of nowhere in the next few hours.
things look to have cooled off in london / kent now, and the big one brewing in france is still over france and hasn't seem to moved
north bucks looks like the place to be

Certainly was last night and for a spell an hour ago. Very quiet now again. Surprised how few storms seem to be developing south and in France currently though. The one near Le Mans seems the only notable thing so far. Otherwise looking quiet with little rain except far south east.
In Central London and it's just started getting much warmer and muggier. I was sat under a brolly during last nights storm but am proper covered for this one. Hope there is some good lightning
Bit of activity moving north over Yeovil and a smattering of thunder and lightning around Birmingham and Nottingham, but looks like France is getting all the fun.

There does indeed appear to be weather action in the Solent area tonight as well as in Kent:

My local area forecast video http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2654675 indicates that the fun will arrive in the early hours of the morning.
The lightening and Thunder has stopped for the last 20 minutes.
Still raining, but the storm hasn't been that spectacular yet.
Good site, I think it's much more fun to look out of the window though!
Storm decided not to bother. Dry as a bone.

Probably already mentioned somewhere in the previous 1390 posts. 😀
Nor me
I've got my little storm watcher things open and it's like watching NORAD at Xmas. Only, Santa is not coming
Also some distant rumblings of thunder, seem to be getting closer as I type this.
It has to, I promised my mum
