This 'Mail article made me laugh

The story is: "Porn websites to be forced to check users are over 18 after children made up 1 in 20 visitors to adult sites"

Well, firstly it starts off by saying:
It comes after a shocking study found one in 20 visitors to adult sites are under 18.

Doesn't come as very shocking to me :D but anyway..
Critics have noted that only one of the 1,266 adult websites visited from the UK in December 2013 was a service that is regulated in this country.

Just one?! 1 out of 1,266 porn sites?! :D

So basically, this story is saying porn websites wont be forced to check anything at all, as they are all based abroad, and this article is completely meaningless.

Made me chuckle at their idiocy anyway

    I'm sure that having a little tick-box that says ☑ I confirm that I am over 18 years old will stop 99% of under-aged users.

    The only site I have been on that asks about adult content viewing is Youtube.

    Too easy for kids to look at porn today
    Back in the dark ages you had to find your dad's secret stash in the shed or find a mag under a bush somewhere What was all the hedgerow porn about anyway??;-)

    There's no way that porn sites can check a surfer's age. The best they can do is to place a checkbox before the surfer gets to see the video/images. They can then say, well, we placed a checkbox before they could view our content. Unless it's a paid for site, that's all that can be done.

    It really is. If you know where to look, there's a load of it.

    Edit: The monitor in that article looks ancient.

    I also love the way the article hooks in the proffesionaly outraged DM readership by using ithe word 'children' as emotively as possible, then once they've grabbed them, later on they they say 'under 18' In fact, the DM should also have an over 18 warning on their website as well, with all the soft porn they have in the sidbar of shame.

    TBH I'm more impressed that 20 people managed to visit 1266 smutty websites in just one month.

    Why were you looking under a hedge? Were you just 'hoping' to find porn or... ;-)

    Kids had to make their own entertainment blah blah blah
    Maybe we had a weirdo live round our way but it was not uncommon to find mucky mags dumped outdoors:blush:
