One of the things that drew me to Kate Bush was her ability to tell a story in her songs; Babooshka - the wife trying to win back her husband, Wow - the faded actor, Kashka From Baghdad, the gay couple living together a secret life.
ABBA were another band that were great storytellers, songs like The Visitors or the sublime The Day Before You Came perfectly conjure up a story in my mind when I listen to them.
I think it's a great talent, and goes someway to explaining their lasting popularity.
