Er, she is? Upon what evidence do you base that opinion?

    None to be honest! :)

She's the more interesting character though I think.

But Capaldi's Doctor is boring to me, I think he was a bad choice, and I'll stand by my comments that I think he's the main reason show's overnights have plummeted. The lead actor must have something to do with its overall draw surely!? I know DW is not a character driven show necessarily, but it still needs a good actor to bring it to the audience.

I've recorded Saturday's episode, but its like can I be bothered to watch or not after the last series? Up until Capaldi it was always 'must watch' even if it was later in the week, but not anymore, but I guess we'll see what happens generally with the catch - up figures.

#DocMartin built on last week's audience to win 9pm slot for ITV with 6.2m/30.7% http://overnights.tv

    Much better for Doc Martin.

That's a bit more like it. I had a horrible feeling it would drop. Last nights episode was th best of this series so far so should hold onto that audience.

ED closing in on EE once again. Poor for the BBC Three repeat.

Emmerdale rises simultantiously with Corrie. These soaps are intertwined, so when Corrie drops so does Emmerdale.

True but ED does have a big storyline this week with "Who Shot Robert?" after the Katie reveal.

Corrie only up 200k on the previous Monday episode, not really as big a rise as it should be considering it is building towards the hats swansong.

They haven't though. Matt Smith's last series in 2013 was getting much the same sort of overnights. Crimson Horror that year got 4.6 million, Nightmare in Silver got 4.7 million. The trend for overnights being down, and being replenished by large timeshifts, has been evident since about 2010 or 2011.

Also, Capaldi's Doctor is amazing, by far one of the best.

    Countdown to Life- 1.56m

    ITV:
    As seen on ITV- 2.52m

Good to see the rise of Doc Martin, looks much better already. Good night for BBC2 as usual for a Monday night. Standard night for C4 for the food type shows and The Catch staying consistent at around 1m still. CBB recovering from the bad weekend as it leads into the final 3 days.

I don't think Capaldi's appearance has anything to do with it - Christopher Ecclestone is hardly an oil painting, and his series rated pretty well.

Capaldi looks about 80 years old though.

With Lewis and Unforgotten both starting that week, the two vacant slots are Tuesday and Thursday. Surprising to see either end up on a Tuesday, particularly against New Tricks. I'd guess Lewis will go there with the new show getting Thursday.

I reckon Tuesday at 8pm for Eternal Glory if it's starting that week, and Wednesday at 8pm for Cuffs once Bake Off is done. Luther might replace New Tricks in the Tuesday slot.

    Excuse me?

I posted facts and then an opinion on EE. 200k for the EE repeat is very poor especially when the normal rating is underwhelming.

I could go on and say that there was a very negative reaction on the soaps forum to last night's EE, with people describing it as "ridiculous" and "purely plot driven".

He looks nowhere near 80, in fact he looks pretty good for his age.

If it was a normal week you could argue that it was fine, but building up to a big live episode, it should have received a bigger jump. With figures like this even without the Bake Off clash, it could underperform.

I haven't been able to find any listings for it yet to see if it has anything worth watching. Presumably they must have been released if it starts next week.

For some reason Your TV has a +1 Channel:D:o

Lets just wait till Thursday to see what happens, it could go either way really.
