So my little boys off school for the holidays and hes got a tummy bug, so I was thinking of showing him some films that I loved as a kid.
Ive gone through the obvious ones like The Goonies and Flight of the Navigator, Labyrinth etc, even the He-Man and She-Ra christmas special, but Ive ran out of ideas.
Anybody recommend anything awesome?

For some reason I remember Weekend at Bernies being one of my favourite films when I was young.
and Police Academy
Maybe those are for early teens though.
I recommend:
1) March of the Wooden Soldiers (Laurel & Hardy)
It's almost 80 years old but it's still a GREAT film for kids and the young at heart. It also goes by the name of "Babes in Toyland". But if you're interested in it, be sure it's the Laurel & Hardy version. There are about 3 or 4 other versions that have been filmed over the years and none of them are as good as the L&H film. LINK (L&H)
2) Abbott & Costelle meet Frankenstein
Another "oldie but goodie" that kids will love. LINK
Don't be turned off by the age of the films. I showed both movies to some children my mother was taking care of a few years ago (ages 5 and under) and they LOVED them.
Big

Looking at a lot of those titles they look like a pile of crap lol
Seeing as you're showing him the 80's,I would recommend:
Muppets Take Manhattan
Neverending Story
Return to Oz
BFG
Supergirl
Heathcliffe:The Movie
Masters of the Universe
Teen Wolf
An American Tail
The Boy Who Could Fly
Short Circuit
Batteries Not Included
Some may be derided by adults, but all are very entertaining to young boys.
I always used to cry when Shadow couldn't get out of that muddy ditch thing and cringe when Chance had all those porcupine needles stuck in his nose *shivers*
Flight of the Navigator
Hook
Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines
All the Herby films
Labyrinth
Legend
Star Wars
The Witches
Ghostbusters
For some bizarre reason - my younger brother and sisters (when they were between the ages of 4-8) love to watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show with me. They even used to dance to the Time Warp
My brother loved that Ewok film (not Return of the Jedi)
Sean Austin, Wil Wheaton, Denholm Elliott....
School gets taken over by terrorists and school kids have to fight back. Have not seen it on TV for about 10 years.
Homeward Bound
BFG
Muppets Take Manhattan <<< amazing film
I've always enjoyed Swiss Family Robinson but then I am a weirdo
Back to the Future!!!
Hocus Pocus
And a terrible one:
Return to Oz - do you want the child to have nightmares for life?!:D
Absolutely best film ever
Having not watched it since I was 5, I am obviously qualified to say this
