I know they say the whole cast will be suspects in Lucy's death but Stacey won't be in the show when the murder happens and DTC wouldn't put Stacey anywhere near another murder storyline.
a) It's the key to her heart, and the incredibly hot Lauren/Stacey affair we've all been waiting for is about to kick off big time. It will be an alcohol and murder fueled romp.
b) It's a clue to a very long running storyline: Stacey let the dogs out.

It did actually cross my mind that it might somehow link into the mystery surrounding Lucy's death. But it's probably a bit of a stretch.
