using wifi without Sim card

When I go on holiday I will be taking my phone, but I don't want to take my Sim incase I use it too much for messages etc.

If I leave Sim at home can I still use the wifi without it?

Also would you still be able to use what's app or fiber without it?

Thanks

    Wifi should be completely independent of the SIM card. I use old phones at home on wifi without a sim card in them.

    If both apps run on wifi over here they should be fine on hols

    As for the wifi yes, I've used my old N97i for internet radio without a sim, As to the other Q, I doudt you'd be able to use any apps, but thats a pure guess.

    Happily using my galaxy nexus in Florida at the mo with sim card removed. All apps work fine including whatsapp. Cache some maps in Google maps before you go and they will even work when you are out of WiFi range :)
