Ah Magicians is on. I must be the only person in the country who bought it on DVD. I remember going to see it at the Cinema and it was just me and my sister on our own until a few of the people who worked there come in to watch it too as a freebie...anyway back to Abba.
Yea i still remember all the number ones from back then. So memorable seeing them on TOTP every week. I wish the abba girls had sung I know him so well. Thats another break up type song...excellent too.
Ooooooo. Curses to you, nickynoodle.
I'll have to go and dig out my old Abbba Collection shortly. I adored 'The Way Old Friends Do' and 'Happy New Year'
Where the hell am I going to get a bloody cassette player to play 'em, though?
Neil Sedaka wrote the English lyrics for 'Ring Ring'? He's another songwriter with the golden touch.
Benny and Bjorn must be worth a mint-surely not far behind Macca with all the revenue from album sales, Mamma Mia, etc. Although obviously no tours, so they're missing out on another potential fortune from that.
Never mind, I'm sure they can live without the extra pocket money! Great band.

My favourite Abba song, always has been, always will be.
In 'Wallender' they kill each other.
That was on my list of favs too swingy.
Edit. Ah. Good song. Not as good as The Day Before You Came, mind.
I'll second that. Great cover done by Blancmange on You Tube too (12" especially)
Where was 'Take A Chance On Me' again ?
Amazing, my top 4 all in the top 7 .
Pity that When All is Said And Done isn't anywhere...
It must be the The Winner Takes it All- a total masterpiece
I will never tire of this song either.
Or 'Happy New Year' or 'The Way Old Friends Do'.
Both incredible, and 'Angeleyes'
SO many classics
2 weeks in 1980
Is that all!!
got knocked off by Bowie's Ashes to Ashes
Ohhhhh that was brilliant too ... Bowie in the clown outfit. Fantastic song.
I like Bowie but couldn't he have held off releasing that for another month - because the winner takes it all is perfect
Their movie was particularly pants, but I do remember going to see it at the cinema.
