I love how it's kinda faithful to the original classic:D

It looks amazing and so much like the original (which is a great thing).

I am confused though. As far as the Wicked Witch of the West is concerned, wasn't this meant to be her years and years before 'TWOO'. Judging by the trailer it's exactly the same witch (different actress obviously!). Either way I don't mind, I love the witch!

Effects look quite ropey if i am honest and the design looks very similar to Alice In Wonderland which i didn't particularly think was a great movie, still holding out hope that this is a good film. Like the use of B&W to colour a nod to Wizard Of Oz

I'm not sure tbh, I just know it’s a prequel.

Strange that they’re releasing it in March though:confused:

Surely it should be released around Christmas time:)

    Looking forward to it anyway….

One of my most anticipated movies. Looks great from the trailer.

I would've thought a Christmas release would've been better (oddly enough, to the poster who said it is similar to 'Alice In Wonderland' it is being released in March, same time as 'Alice' was in 2010).

I love the nod to the sepia/black and white segments too :)

I like the nods to the original but I'm also getting an "Alice in Wonderland" vibe here which another poster mentioned and I didnt think was a particularly great film. I sense an inappropriate relationship/chemistry between the Wiz and Good witch :o
It just seems like they transferred Dorothy's story to the 'Wizard' (maybe with bits of 'The Wiz' - the 70;s version), is this a prequel?

Yes it's a prequel (I think) but from what I've read, it's based around the MGM movie so it's designed to look similar to 'TWOO' which we all know and love.

This film looks like a tacky lump of crap. The Wizard of Oz was one of the greatest invocations of pure movie magic in the history of cinema. This looks like cheap, video-game tat; just like the abortion that was Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

    I love Michelle Williams.

How long ago was this announced that it'd be a movie? Has it been a long time in production?

Me too. She looks beautiful in the trailer.

She looked lovely at the London Premier.

It's such a shame I can't travel, I'd have liked to see her there.

I'm hoping this is as close to a remake as we can come without actually remaking 'The Wizard of Oz'.

Hopefully it will have the spirit of the film.

Hello, has anyone seen the film yet? I know there have been some advance screenings. I have fear that the film makers will not live up to expectations.
