Amazes me how badly the HD channels do compared to the SD versions. Bad marketing or viewers pressing the three digits on the remote they're used to?

Yet Sky's continual on air promotion, which annoys many, works.

A recent football match on Sky Sports which had total viewers of less than 3m had 900,000 watching in HD.

I notice that there are now promotions on ITV for ITV2 HD and like Sky they're actually giving out the channel number.

I've never seen BBC1 or ITV1 do this. They mention HD, but never where to find it.

I suppose that's because It's fairly easy to tell people where ITV2HD is, as it exists only one platform with a single channel number.

BBC HD and ITV1HD are on multiple platforms with 4 different channel numbers to give out. (although they could just show them on screen)

Anyone who "enjoys" watching ITV2, they need to have a word with themselves.

It's absolutely dreadful and an even more waste of space now it's takes up 3 spaces on the EPG.

True, they could. The VO on FX always mentions the HD channel numbers for both Sky and Virgin.
