While 'The Voice' has taken the series itself (Can't remember the exact figures) since Richard took over it was 2 all, so this is personal for Richard! (LOL)
Kicking off at the edge of the editoral area at Rugeley this morning.
Only place I could think of to do, but if Susanna Mendonca is now Wm's political reporter (Her old job before she went to the Daily Politics for a bit! ), then what else is Lizzie Glinka doing besides reading the Breakfast Tv bulletins?
Richard Wilford off today so Simon Lederman and Michelle Dawes was in for Franksy. Thought they were good and look forward 2 this type of line up all week
a treat this Morning Iain Lee in for Nick Conrad who is ill.I did also injoy James Whale sitting in for Adrian Goldberg this week especially with the callers Andy and Derek Yesterday.

Iain Lee, a treat? An opinionated and ignorant presenter who makes sweeping judgments about a subject that he's got absolutely no knowledge of.
A treat? No, more an embarrassment for BBC WM. I pray he never returns after this morning's debacle, and this is from someone who was an Iain Lee fan. No longer.

Could u tell me what made u come 2 this opinion? as i listened to the whole show and i didn't hear any Bias.
I hope Iain he will be back soon, i do think that it would be better 2 have him covering for Danny Kelly, it is Iain's type of show.
James Watt is supposed to be quite good from what I've heard.
He also does a four hour morning show on BBC Radio Derby on Sundays.
Whoever's in charge seems to like the 'big names'. Iain Lee, James Whale and Simon Lederman all on recently. If I'm honest I think I'd just prefer somebody local.
I'm not keen when Gareth Evans covers Danny Kelly's show. He has his own show on Radio Nottingham at that time, he should focus on that.

Simon's Local, in the 90's he presented the Late Show on BBC Radio WM (as it was called then) and became on to be Managing Editor at the station.
Talking of Managing Editor i think the Reason why we are the 'big names' is because the boss did work at BBC London before he came so would listen to the likes of James Whale,Iain Lee and Simon Lederman.
Going on to James Watt it did seem odd WM didn't use someone that works at the Station as Keith may broadcast across the BBC in the Midlands but he does do the show from the Studios in the Mailbox.

Probably no one suitable available.
By the way, the various regional shows that go out, who's responsible for them, the originating station (Wm in this case) or is it joint decisions between all stations involved? )

I'll tell you exactly what made me come to the conclusion that I did, Iain Lee blatantly accused the mother of being wicked, having post natal depression, virtually impossible just hours after giving birth but refused to believe the caller who pointed this out to him, and berated the mother without knowing any of the facts surrounding the birth of the infant.
He didn't take into consideration the fact that the mother may have been a child herself, and had hidden her pregnancy from her family, given birth alone and not known what to do with the baby. That she may have even been the victim of rape and totally desperate.
Another poster on this thread has mentioned "devil's advocate". Okay, I'll accept that, but Iain didn't come across as playing devil's advocate at all at the beginning of the programme, he threw around accusations against the mother and if anyone's in any doubt, I suggest you go to the WM website and listen to the first hour.
I truly pray that I never have to listen to Mr Iain Lee ever again. Accusations, such as those made by IL, are totally unacceptable especially as he had no evidence, whatsoever, to throw them around as he did. I was disgusted with him.

Iain puts forward a controversial viewpoint to wind people up, to get people calling in.
Talk show hosts have been doing this for years.

He's not exactly local to the West Midlands anymore. He lives in London. I wasn't too sure about Nick Conrad taking over the Saturday morning show but he's been here long enough now, so he knows the local area, he knows the goings on. I'd rather just have cover that's local to WM. They've got Wilford, Mollie Green, Daz Hale (as much as I dislike him), Graham Torrington, or even use some of H&W's presenters like Elliott Webb. I know H&W often use Paul Franks as breakfast cover.

They're poor for updating their website but yeah he often does breakfast cover. He lives over that way anyway I think. Normally when he's covering breakfast he'll still do WM drivetime.

Think he mentioned on air once, he lived near Evesham.

I was hoping for a show with calls and a couple of piece of music an hour
Spoilered in case anyone listens on I player.
Pete Morgan returns to Breakfast tomorrow!
Hubby Adam Bridge is out in the radio car, making wishes come true.
We've already heard a 'pet name' for one of them.
'Daddy Pig'! LOL
Bev Bevan is also involved in the show somewhere.
Yes I think its a good show and the kind of thing along side Hunted that I wanted them 2 do before this summer Sunday mornings on BBC WM were very bad
Strange how they've not trialled it with Franksy though...
Given he's one of the longest serving and experienced broadcasters WM have, it's really not
I know he is... but if they're going to trial a new style of show on drivetime wouldn't it make sense to include him?

James Watt from Radio Stoke (I believe! ) covering.
Never heard of him of course.
The only Stoke presenter I know, besides Pete Morgan, is a certain lady mentioned elsewhere.
The one with the alleged 'problem'!

Talk show hosts have been doing this for years. You don't like his style, fair enough, but don't assume that these are necessarily his own views.

Franksy does H & W cover.
New one on me.
